NOTHING EVER CHANGES

One might think that somehow the words would have gotten through, that UCO and its administrators would realize that what they want is not the only game in town. but no, the situation is the same, SNAFU! They continue down the same path.
Tomorrow there will be a secretive meeting organized by Ed Black with hand picked people regarding security contracts and about the instillation of cameras. I believe that we ALL have the right to know the details and to give our opinion about the cameras. I, for one, along with many others are not in favor of having Big Brother watching our every step in the Village. I am not in favor of giving PBSO cameras either, so as to ticket us better. I am not in favor of bothering buildings and associations to get easements from them to hang cameras on their buildings. Yes, you see cameras cannot be hung on FPL lampposts so where else - OUR BUILDINGS.
We do not need cameras here. It will not change the situation and who will be watching anyway during the night and during the day and what would be done should something show up. Are we going to pay for more security guards who might actually be under fifty so they could move and stop something? Who is going to watch 19 screens, carefully and attentively? Think before we allow this to happen. Think carefully before you allow your privacy to be invaded and violated. We have already lost the right to free speech and assembly here and now this?
David Israel rages on his blog about the OPT OUT form. Yes, David, there is a form and you have already received several and they are addressed to the UCO officers because that is the proper address so quit your bluster and bombast. Going for this option does not have anything to do with disruptions - except in your mind where anyone who disagrees with you is bad. Tough! It is the choice of the residents and the associations to opt in or out or stay the same - not yours and do not dare to tell people you will cut off their cable. What an asinine thing to say, as if....Have you spoken to Comcast about that? I think you had better and boy, if you even tried , talk about lawsuits - from every side. Be a man and defend your projects properly and follow the mandate given to you, but not one won by threats, lies and intimidation.
And what about the posting that you allowed on your blog this morning, that hateful one with all the statistics, guaranteed to raise the anger of people? Why did it suddenly disappear? Did you tell Betty Bleckman that it had to go? Why allow hate speech in the first place? Not even an apology.
     You are not a dictator.
You are not king of the Village.
You need to resign or be recalled.
     Term limits is the answer.
