WHAT'S IN A NAME?

I came across this while reading a book and stopped to think about it and what it means.
"In the murderer worthy to be called an artist, there rages some great storm of passion - jealousy, ambition, vengeance, hatred - which creates a hell within him."
That is a pretty strong statement and one must understand why it hits home so deeply. First, one must understand that the term murder or murderer does not have to mean one who slays a person physically, but can also refer to one who slays the elements that make up a good society, thus allowing, or even causing bad things to happen.
Think about it. Think about how our rights here in the Village have been categorically and consistently in an ever rising tide slaughtered, denied and trampled upon. Think how people are told in no uncertain terms to drop dead, to stuff drugs down their throat, to take a rope from them and hang oneself, or better yet, get blown up by their firecracker explosives. Charming, yes! Then think about yesterday and what it meant and think about the next step these malcontents, you know, the David Black and Ed Israel ones - oops, did it again! - think about the next step these people did. They tried to "murder" me in a more sinister tone. They have banned many good people from The Reporter despite the fact that it is OUR paper, not theirs. They have banned groups from the Clubhouse. They have now banned my image and my voice from the airwaves of the Village. Now that is a murder of sorts.
Now think about the rest of the quote. All those terms - ambition, vengeance, hatred, jealousy - all of which combine to form an evil passion and certainly these men and their buddies are tormented or should be by the hell that these emotions and motives create, by the storm that rages inside their minds and souls. Scary.
They then try to inflict their hell on others. Ain't working, guys. Not at all. Oh, it did for a while and still does on some people who say they are still scared, but just look at the meeting that took place yesterday. Classroom C was SRO. Despite the heat in the room with no AC, people sat and listened to the speakers and showed their enormous opposition to the development of the golf course. They even booed one speaker who spoke for it, but wow! Ed Grossman stood up there and like a true statesman told the crowd that the meeting was not David's DA and we were not going to fall to that level. Everyone has a right to speak and the room settled down and listened. Amazing, huh!
And guess what? No one stood or sat there banging away and screeching to call 911. No one screeched hysterically for anyone to sit down, or out of order. NO ONE! Perhaps our "murderer" is loosing steam and needs to go back to the train yards for a refit and tuneup. For sure, he does not recognize nor care to recognize and provide for the needs of the Village. Instead he sends his shill, that nasty dude, Cruz, who tells the Villagers to just give in - on something that obviously still raises a huge crowd and strong emotions.
Finally, we even get the weak links that try to use my own strategy against me, but too bad, Lanny - did not work. I thank you for the flattery of trying to imitate me for that certainly does show your admiration of me and my skills, but again, perhaps some tutoring lessons will enable you to get to the level of at least my weakest students as they learned how to write a literary allusion and allegory. I decidedly am neither sly nor wily. In fact, I say what I mean and I mean what I say, quite openly, the opposite of a fox, if one is to believe the fairy tales and fables of Aesop. In addition, David Israel is not a farmer and the image of him trying to be compared to these hard working and honest people, the people who helped build America - well, I am ready to throw up at that.
As far as the "innocence" of this farmer, I refer you back to reread this posting. You are backing the wrong horse here, to keep up your use of animal allegories and metaphors. As far as the attorney to whom you allude, well, suffice it to say that you malign her, writing words which just highlight your continued chosen ignorance and blindness to the true facts of life here in the Village. Did you even bother to come to the meeting yesterday?

Finally, Gracie, my not so amazing Grace, do you need another round of musical entertainment in a restaurant to help you settle down? Will you never understand that I DO love this place and have so stated many times and that is exactly the reason why I write of the wrongs that are perpetrated upon this Village and its residents by selfish people. And it does get truly tiresome when all you can do is repeat the same nonsensical remarks. Please work on your store of sayings. Thank you ever so much for that little kindness.
Passion is fine. It is wonderful. In the right place and manner. In this Village we have a person who has a created storm of passion for the wrong reasons. His drive to vengeance and hatred, his drive to "murder" our rights, his ambition to be an imperial president, kind of like Obama, huh? Well, how's that working for ya'? Time to go. Time to take a rest. Time to let the grownups run the show, you know, the ones who care and think and work well with others, who care for their rights as Americans, who want what is best for the Village, not for them personally.
Think about this, people. Truly think about it. Chew on it. It is good food for the mind and hopefully will replenish and add to the growing strength of the reformers.
