IN THE INTEREST OF FULL DISCLOSURE

      Before getting into this posting, I must ask Elaine Brown if she truly meant to write about Herb's statement as an "assy" question. Her words, not mine. Elaine, you need to stop making a fool of yourself in public. For your own benefit.
     There appears to be an attempt to paint the opposing factor, those opposed to the antics of David Israel et al, as one united group with no space between them and no differences among them. That is so wrong and is exactly the difference between our outlook and his. No one person is THE leader. No one person determines the thoughts and actions of all of us. Yes, we agree on the need to change UCO, change its direction, bring freedom and rights back to the Village, fix our original paper which is now trash, wasting trees, to reinstate term limits, etc. We disagree sometimes on the methodology or actions or words of some at times but that is their right to do or say as they see fit as long as there is no threat to the life of another, unlike the threats that have come from the David Israel camp.
     So the paranoia of David Israel about this monolithic army coming to get him is just that, a paranoid version that runs rampant in his head and does not allow him to think rationally nor understand what he really should now do. His Grand Vizier, Ed Black, does not allow him to see thru the clouds and thus this nonsense continues when we could already be fixing our home.
     There are others who seem to clump us all together in a one person speaks for all mode and a prime example of that is Eva.  But what comes out of one's mouth does not mean that it also comes out of another's and she needs to understand that and work with us accordingly. However, the excuse that we must not expose any nasty underside of the Village is not acceptable.
     I, too, cringed when I saw some of the pictures on the video. BUT! But - these are pictures from real life. They exist. We ARE having trouble with our waterways and are not tackling it properly. We are reacting rather than being proactive and are doing things piecemeal. I recognize Eva's actions and attempts to fix the water problems, yet they are still here. We must change directions and pathways.
     The pictures of the vastly cracked roadways are there. These were not from outside the Village. These are pictures of reality. So are the pictures of the golf course and its runaway vegetation and who knows what is in that wild vegetation? The golf course problem can actually be laid squarely at the feet of Mark Levy for he sold it and us down the road, carelessly, unthinkingly, as the borders, or so we are told, run right into our Village and never mind the ugly view of an ugly overrun golf course from a distance. How about the people who have fences and ugliness in their faces??!! How about the lovely spot known as Shabsi's Garden, my friend who is no longer with us, who was known to tend that area lovingly every time he came down. Now his wife has to look at ugliness instead of beauty right there in her face when she comes down. This did not have to be, not with a bit of care and concern as to where the borders were and how it would affect us here.
     Does all this ugliness deter some people from buying? Possibly. But they can see it all when they come a lookin'. There is simply no way to hide it - other than to take care of the problem.
     But this and other problems are neglected. The whole Sheffield O problem and the fact that there are others who own many apartments - huh, Foster - and the fact that there are undesirables who are being rented to, or that the units are being used as motel suites - this was known and nothing was done about it until Ed G. brought in the outside world. Then suddenly there was a flurry of interest and just the other day suddenly there was a new story of letters and correspondence that supposedly had been going on. I do not believe it and please do not show me copies of something that can easily be ginned up on a computer. And even if it were the truth - this would be another example of the truth being hidden from us, the wee poor old doddering fools of the Village who are good enough to spend their money here and buy units, but too old to be told the truth. We are like the Eloi race in Verne's The Time Machine, being pampered and treated like pets - until the time comes for them to be eaten by the monsters.
     In the interest of full disclosure, one does not have to be marching in lockstep to work together. The CV Messinger should be allowed to be placed in the Clubhouse along with all other papers and publications. Olga should not be threatened that if she ever brings another petition into the Clubhouse she will be banned from it. Really? Are we in school again? Is Eva the principal who will suspend us should we bring a naughty piece of paper into the Clubhouse/school? C'mon! I am truly insulted here and so should you all be.
     Today is 9/11, a day when we were viciously attacked by those who do not believe in our values of  rights for all people, for a democracy, for the discussion table rather than the hammer and gavel of the dictator. Yet today in CVWPB there is no liberty, no freedom of speech, no freedom of assembly and no equal rights. There is taxation without representation as we pay dues to rent that building and pools and other facilities, fix them at our expense while owning nothing - and yet, we do not have full and equal access to them. That statement was a rallying cry of the colonists as they poured the tea into the harbor, as they fought a war that had never been fought before for reasons that had not gained footholds in the minds of the common people until then. Yet here we are, centuries later and we have to fight the battle all over again.
     The other day I wrote of the rumor that David Israel was ready to talk. Well, it is over a week and so what am I to think when nothing has happened to make that rumor real. I have extended my hand often enough in the hope that together we can make CV a better place. But nothing has happened so I am left with several possible choices. Either my source was misinformed or my source was telling a lie, or David Israel lied. I know my choice based on history. What is yours?
     In the interest of full disclosure can we not sit down together and talk? Without yelling. Without tossing accusations. Just a question of how do we improve our home. And one way to start that is by term limits and by reinstating the right to present the decisions to the delegates and not rule via the Executive Board! The delegates want their rights back again and if we have to we will walk out time and time again until the point is made. That would be a good first step and if that happens, then we will reciprocate as well. Try it - you might like it.
