Of late there has been much talk about the issue of Wi Fi again. Frankly, I believe it is simply the manifestation of David's ego as he holds on tenaciously and obsessively to what HE wants and the hell with everyone else and never mind all the other far more pressing issues. Here we are talking of signing a contract with a Canadian company, not an American one, for three years hence and then for ten years after. Well how about the Millennium Agreement which is up in 5 1/2 years and demands preparation and not now but many yesterdays ago? Why are we talking about 13 years when the technology is obsolete in so short a times now? Why are we condemning ourselves to be backwards and when we have so many more pressing issues and as far as the price - a crock as far as I am concerned. Do not tell me $37 plus 14% tax which is about $53. That is for TV alone and then comes the additional money for Wi Fi.
We already have Wi Fi in the Village. I use it every day all day and so do most others in the Village. Many, on the other hand do not and do not want to pay for something they will never use nor can ill afford. Many associations have wired up and many more have opted out so what are we doing? In fact, better question, what are you doing, David Israel, you and your lemmings? I have my phone, my cable and the exact stations that I want and am very satisfied with it. Yes, I pay for it but I pay for premium all around, the best speed, the best connection, a large choice of stations and I wish to leave it this way and not pay for something I have no assurance of that will be better or more up to date or will be easily contacted with problems, We now have a Comcast person on hand so where will we go - to Ottawa?
We have three more years with Comcast and they have offered a plan with a decent doorway fee. Atlantic's doorway fee or rather their "beautification" fee - and what the hell is that terminology - is pathetic. Leave well enough alone, let us watch carefully to see what is coming down the pike, let us prioritize with far more important issues - and oh, by the way, I conducted a very informal probe of agents as to how many lookers asked about the Wi Fi, especially as a make or break point and guess what? Not so many. So once again - who is not telling the truth here? Let us figure out how to amass the funds we need to do all that we must and without crushing the people in the Village. Demand that of UCO or demand that they go. Just sayin' here - but think about all that I have written in recent blogs and see who is telling the truth. The truth shall set you free - a truth indeed. Who fights for our rights and who takes them away? Just sayin' again.
Due to holiday, will be back on Tuesday morning so in the meanwhile catch up on prior postings that you have missed.
