WHY MEET?

Today and tomorrow there are two important meetings that behoove one to attend. Today we have the Finance Committee meeting at 10 AM in Room B in the Clubhouse. This meeting will determine much of the budget and the fees we will be paying next year. What will they ignore? What will they try to pass through? What will WPRF be demanding? Will we stop these pie in the sky expensive projects and get on with what we need to do - like the waterway, the Reflection Bay issue, Broadband, the roads, the wild life that is not so welcome like snakes and alligators and perhaps their human versions? Just askin'. We need a reserve built up, a topic long ignored and waiting to bite us in the rear when the demand comes up. What about for the post Millennium negotiation and preparation and who the hell will be the lawyer? Less than six years to go and we have done a big fat ZERO!
Be there, listen, question, demand answers .
10 AM ROOM B CLUBHOUSE TODAY

Then tomorrow we have a meeting called by the CV Messenger, another meeting that will discuss issues of importance to the residents. These meetings, while sometimes a bit talkative, do lend an ear to the residents and do expose topics of concern, usually topics that have been ignored or buried by UCO. Look at the topics to be discussed and just KNOW that they are of concern to you. It does not matter, for example, if you live near a canal or on a lake or away from the water. The look and the odor and the toxicity - will share the wealth with you as well. It is time we take up these topics and demand answers. Already we have met with some success as items that have been brought up by those opposed to the molasses workings of UCO have begun to be addressed but so much more is needed, so much funding, so much stress and the only way to keep this up is keep applying pressure, keep asking questions and keep demanding specific answers not just platitudes.
A democracy is best when the constituents are participatory. The residents must take more of a share in the workings of their associations. It is not magic that completes the work or takes care of business but rather dedicated people. It is only right and fair that all residents take part. It is right and fair to insure that one person does not build up a supply of units in one association. For example, I believe that allegedly Peter Cruise owns four units in his Sheffield association. Not a good idea and that goes for anyone who owns too many multiples in one building or even throughout the Village. That leads to motels in Sheffield and rooms to rent elsewhere.
It is time to look at our Village as a home, and not as a source of investment profits. Once that was the reality, but we have strayed from the path. People have come who look upon UCO as their own personal seat of power. People have decided to walk on the Constitution. People have decided to ignore the needs and wishes of the residents. People have been blacklisted. There is so much right here, so much beauty, but there is much to be corrected. So come tomorrow as well.

Room 104 - Medical Building
In today's world, this upside down place, there is often not too much the ordinary citizen can do, though one must try, so at lest here we can attempt to speak up more, talk more, question more
.
COME!!!
