Yet I wonder, why is it not so simple and sweet. Okay, the issues do tend to impact on one's thinking and choices to be made, far more than a tad or two, but there it is. Simple indeed, whether bitter or sweet or somewhere in between. In my opinion, the response is simple - the truth, whether we like it or not. Whether it fits in with our planned scenarios or contradicts and contravenes and plans are shot to hell. Well, such is life, and such are the hard decisions which force us to strengthen our moral vitality, our honesty and the courage to face the truth and act as a result within the proper paths indicated.
So, third indictment. There are about 40 or more total number of offenses for which Trump has been indicted, violating along the way, the rule of law, of dignity, and truth - nowhere in sight. The last most powerful indictment is the one which should manage to wake people up, to face the truth, to drop their wishful thinking and delusions by the wayside, and not only smell the truth, but accept it.
For whatever reasons they used to justify their so wrong thinking, the time has come to make that short decision, sweet or not. The truth. Period. Accept it already. There is not only warning smoke here, but a raging fire which has already consumed much of the nation's psyche and unity, shredding the national fabric, tear by tear, shred by shred.
Simply put - they bet on the wrong horse.
Why and wherefore have the GOP as a party and individually, chosen to keep on with this hopeless Chelm like decision and storytelling. It is nonsense, a dangerous nonsense and it is time to abandon it and the man who has caused so much trouble, who has led so many astray, whose insane rantings are the dynamite, the IEDs which will indeed blow this nation to itty bitty pieces. A bunch of tiny weak nation states with no power, of no consequence, on an inevitable ending of the road in dictatorship and fascism. Fascism American style,
Equally as vicious, just as life destroying and yet -there it is right in front of our national eyes, blocking further progress, forcing a retreat on much that makes America that - America. Yet so many smash themselves along its stones, as they deny the need to address divisive and corrosive issues.
Adopting gun control.
The permanent banning of censorship and the closing of libraries.
On sane rules of social safety nets and paths out of the homelessness and hunger plaguing our nation.
On ensuring the safety and permanence of voting rights and access to ability to vote.
There are so many important issues to address, so why do we continue to waste our time on a demented man. Put him on trial, stop his time playing games and have done with it.
Unbelievably, Republicans refuse to gather their courage, so drained, so weak, so nonexistent, and avow the truth and disavow the false narrative they have been swallowing hook, line and sinker, the version of the Kool-Aid of Jones even as they choke on its bitterness and life denying properties. Enough already.
While I am not a big Pence fan, what he had the courage to say about this latest indictment rings a bell.
"Today’s indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States,"
"Our country is more important than one man. Our constitution is more important than any one man’s career."
People, we must get together. We must gather our wits around us. We must do this correctly and promptly. We have lost much already; can we try to keep the rest of "America" intact, healthy, and safe.
