THIS IS WACK

  Perhaps not the most elegant statement, it does get the message through. I found this online as a comment re the empty Disney site and the weird orange skies resulting from the forest fires in Canada. And yes, the response to that statement is an emphatic nodding of the head in concurrence. Things are certainly "wack" these days in so many ways.

Wack is defined as something of low quality or odd, irrational, not very pleasant nor pleasing. In other words, the adjective 'wack' is not a word with positive connotations and yet, it is perfect for today's world, particularly in our country and in fact, in another country I hold close to my heart - Israel. 

In a time of great innovation and discovery, with opportunities never before having been dreamed of, we should, as humans, be equally as far advanced in civil and civic behavior, in unquestioning acceptance of the humanity of all. We should be working at solving or resolving common problems, well on the way towards a solution, and yet, these issues are only getting worse, deteriorating by the day.  In direct contrast to the direction we should be moving - forward, along with the best of humanity's history, we are reversing, returning to old behaviors that should long ago have been left behind, dead. But take a look around and see their contaminative rebirth or resurrection, growing. Until there is a likelihood, a realistic possibility, of the blows they will strike, blows of crimpling power to a positive, beneficial future. Wack indeed. 

How and why have we returned to a time of political machinations of great and harmful impact? How have we accepted the reduction of so many to the category of "others", rescinding all rights common to all within our nation, upheld by laws, by Constitutions on every level of government. Targeted by vicious determined backwards people to dehumanize and disarm opponents, legislatures ruled by Republicans are striding forth with   confident steps into a dark world, very dark, and I am not sure that we have enough courage, energy, whatever is needed to turn the situation around. Not sure at all, considering the growing tidal wave of it all threatening to drown the voices of sanity and progress. Are these voices going down for the third time? Not sure. But worried. Concerned. Indeed, a wack time of deep concern. 

 Israel, returning to a stunted, backwards enforcement of bizarre religious customs which have no basis in the Jewish religion other than extreme interpretations, and a fierce determination, by men, to keep women invisible, of no account, all the better to safeguard their own distorted use of religion, as these pathetic people will do all they can to keep power in their hot little hands. running rampant over the rights and humanity of all. Determined to build a Jewish Afghanistan, a horror growing by leaps and bounds. A possibility far too quickly and powerfully growing. Depressing wack.

We here, in the good old USA, have the same hate filled intellectually challenged characters who are rejoicing in the fertile grounds they have uncovered, its fetid odors stifling all who breathe it.  Now to be entombed within that earth are all that is good in mankind, and above we will have the hatred and vicious nastiness plaguing humanity since time immemorial. Guarding against a possible resurrection are the dregs, those whom even their own despise and fear and keep far away. Left behind, they revel in the reek stink of the fetid air, restraint and morality unknown. 

Depressing black thoughts and yet how else can one think about the future. Check the news and find the names of indicted people, a who's who of former 'leaders' of America, all contaminated with the filth emanating, dripping down from the head of it all - Trump. Even as his offenses, financial, civil, criminal, treasonous, are uncovered, there are too many who say they will vote for him, even as they concede that he is idiotic, is narcissistic and has done some unpleasant deeds. Have we all, as a nation, imbibed of the Kool-Aid? What the hell!!  

 Synagogues across the nation have been targeted, viciously, been swatted, and 41% of American Jews no longer feel safe here any longer. Antisemitism has become the go to cause patronized by celebrities, making it acceptable, even admired, as open conferences thinly disguised official acceptance of antisemitism along with rampant vicious attacks on Israel. 

Once again that ugly drive to target Jewry round the world and certainly within one's country. Greed, as   properties are ravaged and taken over? Power as obtained through newly enacted laws? Sheer insanity? Choose or create one of your own, it makes no matter. Hate does not need reason to exist. In fact, where reason is rare hate will thrive. And as usual, Jews are targets of this growing darkness of hate and insanity. By too many within our government and among the deluded populace.

Wack indeed. Wack very frightening. Wack which must be overcome. Is that a true possibility? Does humanity possess the willingness, the power, the   determination to combat this or will they fall short and wallow in the stink of evil.

Depressing wack.

Think I will go watch some videos of my little great grandson, so bright and shiny, so fear inducing as I watch his explorations of this new world, smiles at his successes, babble along with him, and worry about his future for so many, too many reasons. 

Then I think of the good granted us, to and for Yitzy that has given him strength and shoulders to lean on, knowing there are lots of people devoting time to pray for him, to heal him, to allow him to live a good and productive life.

I hope.

And again, the only way we can fight this evil   wack in our world is to unite, to be ....

Together, united for good.

Together.

Together.

We can heal the nation.
