THE LATEST

So sorry that I have not posted for two days. I guess it was either a lack of inspiration or a sense of deja vu - been here before. Davidisraelland seems to have an infinity to recycle the same old issues which generally focus on raging against the lawsuit with the same tired argument that one is suing oneself and that should have been put to bed long ago.
The other issue they love to bring up is the glorious days that will be when we have Wi-Fi throughout the Village. So once again, yes, Wi-Fi is great, but we already have it. It is at the pools if one desires to take a computer there, though why they do is beyond me, and we have Wi -Fi in our homes via Comcast or ATT and for the most part it works fine. The speed is quick and the connections are fine as well. Unless things have changed greatly, the CV wide system will be slower and for more speed and capacity one will have to pay more so free ain't so free. Why we are bothering about this is still a question when building by building is easier and less costly and allows for an Association to decide, not have a bad decision forced upon them. It is just something that is a waste of money that is more desperately needed elsewhere in the Village what with the roads and other infrastructure showing age, wear and needing fixing and/or replacement.
Many questions need to be answered or at least first asked about the RFP for the system. George Pittel, a Board member wrote a letter stating that the questions that we raised first time around forced a better RFP and a realization that the proper homework had not been done and we should keep listening. He is right but it is a worrisome thought when David Israel specifically warned people not to contact the companies. Just who IS talking to the companies? When will the RFP be public as well as the responses? It is the right of all residents to have full disclosure. Perhaps we will all love the results . Perhaps not. It is our right, not the way it is possibly going to happen again.
David Israel is already preparing excuses about the system saying perhaps routers will be needed due to the buildings construction material. Yes, routers will be necessary, ANOTHER EXPENSE, for some people, but they will also be needed to insure privacy. That he does not say, but then again, he comes out of the NSA and we all know what they think about the privacy of an individual. I, for one, am not comfortable with the thought that while David Israel sits in his office almost 24/7, he will be listening in. Uh Uh, not for me.
And by the way, I do not want to pay for this new system as I am quite happy with my current service and the company is already planning other advances, just as they have done with the latest Comcast box. There should be an opt out box to check! I, and the Village residents, have other places to spend this money.
