Congratulations, Olga! You have the dubious honor of being the first open victim of the Poohbah's secret police, informers and enforcers at the same time. Confused at the most recent turn of events, wondering how he has lost control of what he thought was his private and personal fiefdom, he has had to spread his forces out, watching and waiting, ready to spring on such as you, to frighten you off and threaten you with security and armed force.
Well, people, we can all see now that it is all a paper tiger. Their threats to have armed guards, deputies, at the assemblies so as to shut down any opposition speaker, to attempt to intimidate people into silence - all are as wisps in the wind. They are as meaningful and as productive as that supposed march against terrorism will be in France. When terrorists themselves march in it, as Abbas plans to do, and suddenly Hezbollah and Hamas condemn the attack on the paper but ignore the one on the kosher supermarket and the murder of 4 people there, what hypocrisy and what uselessness. Deeds and actions must back up words or else the words mean nothing. Let us see what will happen. I wonder if someone will hold up a sign "Je suis Juif".
That same uselessness, that same meaningless gesture, is the purpose and meaning of Phyllis Siegelman; however, maybe now she will actually have something to say at the assembly. She will have Olga to thank for that! And actually, to carry the analogy further, this is the Poohbah's own form of terrorism. Will he be able to terrorize people to shut up as he has done over the past few years? Will he be able to convince people that armed force is actually allowed? Will anyone be deluded into thinking that one of these Kent security guards can stop you from putting up a notice on bulletin boards of the associations? They cannot even lay a fingernail on you! And as for PBSO - wait till I stop laughing. Just who is inciting riot here? Hmmmm....
When confronted with countermeasures such as recorders, these wanna be fascists have to back down. Their actions are never to be done openly, so publicity of their misdeeds is of importance. Should this happen to anyone else, please contact any one of us you know who are vehemently for open and free speech here in the Village, for honesty and transparency, and we will take it from there.
Come to the meetings, both in Room C at the Clubhouse - one on Wed. Jan 14 at 3:30 to hear opposition thoughts about the budget and go to the meeting on Tuesday Jan. 20 at 9:30 to hear their plans, but listen and question, question, question. They will try to slip things by, mix funds and costs, lie through their teeth and laugh behind their sleeves if we do not stand up to them. We have had great success so far in the most recent assemblies and let us not lose our momentum. Then be sure to attend the February assembly where announcing and nomination of candidates will take place. Better yet, run for office.
