TODAY I AM AN EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER!!!!!!! HOO- RAH!!!!
Thanks to all the work that all of us have done, we achieved two goals today. First, due to the John Hess appointment and the generous offer of Marilyn, the flag was passed to me and I accepted a position on the Executive Board. I submitted an application for several committees, doing it the right way, playing the game, but we all know that nothing will come of it and David will not approve my being on any committee of note. But, I can sit in and make noise and I can certainly make noise at the Executive Board meetings and question some plans and force people to think what they are doing.
Our second victory was the walkout. After calmly explaining to the delegates how the facts were, how they have been turned into a redundant political body with little or no power, certainly none of any note, I asked if there would be an answer to this issue and received none. Thereupon I asked all who understood what I had just explained and who did not accept this, to stand, turn their back and walk out quietly. And so we did and so the quorum disappeared.
Together we can achieve. Together we can turn UCO back onto the right path with freedom to vote and run, freedom to talk and express opinions, a UCO with new faces, many faces, rather than the same old tired ones.
A CEO was asked about the best atmosphere to build a company and its working environment. He said that it can take years to build and then a matter of a short order to tear it down. This is what has happened to our UCO and this is what we wish to change. Lack of communication, lack of trust all tend to bring down an enterprise. We are ready to communicate, to build that working environment,to work on a consensus. Are you, David Israel et al? We are. But until we receive a positive answer, we will keep on in our drive to make its so.
