QUESTIONS AND RUMINATIONS PART II AND THE ABSURDITIES ARE FLOURISHING

How sad it is that we have yet more absurdities that we can question. For example, one of the hottest topics out now in the Village is whether D.I. will wear his new costume of logo t-shirt and black shorts or will he get his jacket and pants from the cleaners and revert to that? Hot topic indeed. We all wait with bated breath.
Another hot topic. How and why is it that Ed Black and other officials - oops, he really is not an official of UCO, is he? - but anyway, how is it they all boast of their hard work spending hours and hours as they look into a new security contract. First of all, if 14 companies responded, I wonder where they all were last time around so that we did not have to settle for Kent. But oops, forgot that Ed Black and David Israel told us it was the best contract ever and without any real full disclosure or time to question, the DA was pushed into approving more as a sign of recognition of that "hard work" than anything else. Anyhoo, a year later, a truly lousy company and contract and here we are again - with all that "hard" work again when due diligence the first time around would have done the trick. Again, why 14 companies. Do you mean to tell me that nobody had the skill set to eliminate and winnow down the possibilities. Sad, very sad. And now here we are again, with David assuring us that the lawyer for the contract is a "shark" so where was she for the road contract? Where was she for the other contracts that have gone sideways? And why should we again approve a contract about which we know little or naught, have not read the contract at all, let alone seen it in its entirety, and how dare they even ask us to do so. Would you sign a contract to buy a house without reading it, accepting the assurances of the other party that of course they will do this or that, give you those and hold these. C'mon!!! Get real here.
More questions of absurdity? Remember the superman theme - "able to leap tall buildings in a single bound"? Well, evidently so does Eva for the other day she spoke of putting in barriers and glass and what not in the WPRF offices, all the better, my dears, to protect the WPRF people from the dangerous wildlife out there - that would be us. While we certainly cannot leap tall buildings, Eva must think we can leap tall counters. Actually, could we even leap short ones? Where do the walkers and canes and bad backs, miserable hips and knees, weak shoulders and muscles, etc. come in? Shall we have a contest now to see just who among us can perform these feats of derring - do and then perhaps ban them from WPRF offices so the barriers suitable to a jail do not go up. Banning from WPRF facilities is an ongoing industry so no problem there. Barriers indeed - and with our money too!
Truly, I cannot wait for Friday to see what other absurdities and efforts to stifle free speech, democracy and all that is fine here in the Village. Make sure you come this Friday and join in the fun.
And now let us venture out in to the world at large. How about that Pope. He is touted all over the world as the liberal one, caring about all, chiding the Church for their obsession re abortion and homosexuality issues, commends the bishops for their efforts to combat and investigate Church inspired child molestation - and exactly what was that about - and then had to assuage the poor victims who did not feel quite the same way. And then we find out that he had a meeting with that crazy clerk who thinks that she can pick and choose how to perform her duties.
Religious belief is one thing and she was not being asked to perform a religious ceremony, was she? She was being asked to fulfill her duties as a clerk. What if she had not liked a couple with one being too pretty or too tall or too handsome or too fat or whatever. Would that also be a violation of her religious principles? Where does it stop. Equal rights for all be they straight or gay or questioning. If one has a problem - why not just leave it up to G-d who will judge us all at the proper time and I believe more so for our morals and traits such as kindness, care for fellow human beings, love, charity, and on and on and not what we did in the bedroom with another consenting adult. Anyway, our Pope goes to meet with her. Really? Why and what for? Is this part of the awful and growing syndrome we have of our leaders saying one thing and then doing another? Does it not have to stop at some point? And lest some of you benighted people out there claim that I am showing a religious bias, forget that thought! I have no patience at all for any clergy of any religion who violates the laws of humanity, who takes advantage of a position of trust and harms another. No patience at all. They are among the worst of humanity for they not only violate trust, but do so with some of society's most vulnerable.
Oh, forgot about the altruistic Putin who is going to rescue Syria along with his pathetic justifications for invading the Ukraine. Forgot about the absurdity of trying to fit a large percentage of the world's population into a small already well populated area and not really being sure just exactly who and what these people are. As a Jew, I shudder a tad. These people have been raised for decades with Jew hatred, with vile and vicious anti - Semitism, with Israel and the "yahud" as the enemy of the world. Does anyone really think that because they have crossed the Aegean Sea that they have left behind all that? Are there no twisted terrorists within them and exactly how are we to screen them efficiently and fairly and thoroughly? Any ideas out there? None? I thought so.
We are in a world of trouble, here and there. Let us tackle the smaller world first, clean up and clear out the trash, those who do not have the interests of the Village at heart and then perhaps we can tackle the world! How is that for priorities? Gotta laugh folks, for if not - there come the tears.
