FINALLY, A BREATH OF FRESH AIR AND A GUST OF HOPE

Today is a good day for all of us here in the Village. Today is the first day of a new air in CV, one with the sweet taste of hope. Phyllis Richland is running for president of UCO. Yes, that very same Phyllis who has served honorably in several administrations as VP, one who cares for the people, a VP who never sat at meeting after meeting saying, "nothing to report".
Phyllis was a VP whose hours were jammed meeting with people, helping them, referring them to the proper place and people, never saying that it was not the business of UCO, never turning anyone away. Her hours were endless.
Even more special is that Phyllis knows that she is human and is serving at the pleasure of the electorate. She knows how to listen, how to take in and utilize new ideas, to thank people for their help and suggestions and does not look for power or control. Phyllis works well with others.
Our Village is in a precarious state, one, I believe, which is existential in its threat. We need someone who knows and understands this, who knows what we need to do in order to insure our financial stability and invites all to work with her, to volunteer. She threatens no one with loss of position, but will not stand on the current policy of exclusion and consolidation into a circle of "holy people". A democracy we are and a democracy we will remain.
So mazel tov to the whole CV and congratulations to all at a new hope for the future, one with experience, caring, concern for the residents and openness to new ideas and methods, with room for all to contribute.
Come and join in the campaign. Stand with us and the future.
