CATCH - 22 HERE IN THE VILLAGE

     Why the title? Because this is just as nuts as the ward in the novel. If I had not attended the DA myself I would not have believed what happened. Wondering what? Well, our esteemed president, David Israel, has totally flipped. The man needs to be removed from office due to insanity or lack of control over his mouth and mind. As for 88 delegates if that really was the number, they need to go eat some more brain food and learn to think for themselves and hear what is being said. If this does not happen we might as well call it a day, close up shop, sell our units and the whole Village right back to the Levys and they can redevelop this as who knows, some luxury resort or perhaps a homeless shelter!
     Once again we were being pushed to vote in a rushed manner on a security contract. The last time we did that we were totally screwed though we were told that it was the "best contract ever" - famous last words indeed.
     Suffice it to say that the contract and the performance of the company were garbage, to say the least and now we hear that these poor critters on the Security council were just about overworked to death looking for a new company. Well, like the orphan who killed his parents and then asked for mercy as an orphan, this committee screwed themselves and us and then wanted pity for themselves. They messed number one up and now wanted another chance to mess up the second time around - not better this time around here - and gave us a teeny printed sheet of two sides which said a whole bunch of nothing. Anything of details and importance was said to be post orders and work product so we who were paying for this and knew that these post orders were the guts of the contract were denied, denied, denied - again.
and yet, once again we were told that this was the best contract ever.
     There was a request to reschedule, to have another meeting where we would meet the owner of the company and ask our questions - no work product problem there - but nope, David Israel and Ed Black were incensed that we dared to question them. Really, who do they think they are? That is our money going down the toilet again.
     A motion was made to table the first motion, which takes precedence according to Robert's Rules. Even in our by laws, Article IX Section E, states that UCO runs meeting according to Robert's Rules. But the madman up there who was flagrantly violating his role as chair which was meant to be a neutral position - which he always violates - said, " this is not the British Parliament!" That was an asinine and insane comment. The man has truly lost his bearings. He shouted down Marilyn Gorodetzer who read from the  Rules but he could care less and denied it.
     He was frantic to vote what with the quorum dwindling. He was frenetic and it is amazing that the numbers were missing about 20 delegates and their votes and the supposed count of the yes votes came out exactly at 66 2/3 % of the quorum. This counting method is one that is bogus and suspect - as are much of what this man does.
     I apologize. I should have stood up and asked for another walkout but I thought I would give it a chance. Next time - out we go and if I am not there, then please, someone else do it, for this man must be denied before he is the death of us and the Village.
     But the best part is what happened today at the Security meeting. Evidently the Kent guards are planning a walkout, time and duration unknown  - and the new contract is not to start till October 26. So now what Mr. Know it all? Will we have to pay a premium to the new company? That would be ironic? How will they be properly trained and if not them, then what? Will you and Ed Black and the patriot Milton Cohen and of course Don Foster the not yet CAM who was sitting up there as one, - and Fausto and even Joy Vestal, etc. - ooh, and Bob Marshall of course - what a picture - will all of you serve as the guards taking day and evening shifts? Will you show your devotion to the residents who so stupidly indulged you in your destructive ways?
     The answer is simple. To get rid of this, the whole shootin' shebang - vote for Phyllis Richland. She knows how to run a company, having done that. She cares for the Village. She cares for the residents. She asked you to stand up to all this before it is too late. Phyllis wants a new day here in the Village. Let us give her that bright new day before the sun sets on us and the Village thanks to the works of the dangerous duo - Israel and Black and all henchmen. Nightime we do not need.
