BULLETIN! BULLETIN! BULLETIN!!
I have received word that David Israel has been in UCO since early this morning, frantically searching for cigar boxes and paper clips. His obsession continues. Wonder what the new behavior department of the PBSO would say about his obsessive behavior? Time to Bakerize?
Here is full disclosure. Open and frank statements. David Israel, it is no secret that I do not like you. I believe you have a hole in your soul where morals should be, a lack of empathy and care for others and a great huge double scoop of selfishness and love of power. It is also no secret that you do not like me. Well, all that and yet life goes on.
What cannot go on anymore is the depletion of the funds of UCO and the Village, the irregular practices of UCO, the disregard of the Constitution, you know, the document that makes us Americans? Yeah, that one.
And yet, we both live here and depending on G-d's plans we have some years yet to go. If we both mean well for the Village, and I certainly do, then we must look for the cure for the disease that is eating us up, ruining our paradise here. So once again, in the name of all those who have been killed this week, both here and in Israel, in the name of the 9 year old who stood there fighting his tears as he recited kaddish for his parents, for another young husband dead and nine more children orphaned, deprived of their fathers, I once again put out a hand, asking that you put aside your personal feelings, put aside your desire for power and return to the straight and narrow, learn once again to work with others, and accept that there are differing opinions from yours and that is okay.
I quote here from the play written in 1917 by Stefan Zweig called Jeremiah.
Zweig writes about Jeremiah trying to convince Yosheyahu, the king of Judah, to prevent the looming war with Babylon. "Jeremiah says:
I say unto you, people of Jerusalem, that war is a fierce and evil beast, one that devours the flesh of the strong and sucks the marrow of the mighty, crushing towns in its jaws and trampling the land beneath its hoofs. Those who awaken it, shall not again lay it to sleep; and he who draws the sword, is likely to perish by the sword. Woe to those who murder peace with the words of their mouth.
Yosheyahu (the king) tells Jeremiah that it is too late, that there is no time to stop the war, to which Jeremiah replies:
It is never too late to talk of peace.
The shedding of blood digs a trench between the nations. The more deeply we dig it, the harder to stop the bloodshed. Therefore let words go before the sword. Seek audience of Nebuchadnezzar; send him an envoy. Send envoys, while there is yet time to save Jerusalem.
Blessed is he who first holds out his hand for peace. Blessed is the king who spares the blood of his people."
I have held out my hand to you countless times, eager to work only for the benefit of the Village but you have consistently put yourself and your interests over and above those of the Village. Though I have a strong candidate whom I believe is the best for the Village, and will continue to support her, I still offer you a hand in which to join forces for the sake of the Village.
This is most probably an offer made in vain but it is out there and shame on you for your selfishness and refusal to work with others, to know when your time has come, when it is time for a new day.
The other night, even as awful things were happening in Israel, in Jerusalem and on a road, the group Bon Jovi had a concert in Tel Aviv. They stood up to the nasty pressure of the BDS movement and the nasty anti Semitism of Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, (may he lose his voice!),and performed in Israel, proudly, with Jon Bon Jovi congratulating his keyboard player, a nice Jewish boy, and telling him that his dad would be proud of him. He then dedicated the first song, "Don't Run" to Israel. Hear the words of the chorus: "We don't run
I'm standin' my ground.
We don't run
And we don't break."
We, the opposition, will never break, will never back down and will never run. Time for you to understand that and work with what is offered for if not, it will be your loss. Your tantrums, your nonsensical statements, your infantile behavior and your threats have all lost any power. Your time has come - to go -and our time, the Village's time has come - for a NEW DAY. Join in or be discounted.
I will not be posting again until Wednesday morning so please take the time to read those postings you might have missed. Thank you.
