WHO IS RUNNING THIS JOINT???

     Keystone Kops here? Just exactly who makes the rules here and how do they change and does anyone tell anybody else about the changes? Evidently the answer is a resounding no, for just look at the latest mess with the lease renewals.
     It has always been that the lease would be brought to the President or other assigned officer of the association, the decision to approve or not was made then and there and the renter given a letter from the association with its seal and signed and co-signed by two officers. This would be presented to the ID office and the ID issued. End.
     Now suddenly there is an extra trip involved and UCO - UCO?? - will approve the lease - OR NOT -  and then issue yet another form which needs to be filled out, return to the association for the previous step number one and then go to WPRF for an ID.
     So first we are told that UCO has no control over associations and therefore they were free and clear of all blame in the Sheffield O mess and now, suddenly,THEY have control over the leases and approval of them. Huh? Wha' happened? Is this their clumsy way of trying to get control over everything? Will they then take the blame when they mess up? If they are so concerned, then how about appointing someone to go out to the people with the form rather than making them go twice. We have an elderly long time renter in our building, about 94 or thereabouts and now she has to schlep twice? to offices, waiting for the buses, doing the walking and for what and why?
     If this is to avoid another Sheffield O, then do it the right way. WPRF is the one to give ID cards and thus they should note that hmmm, Unit xxx seems to be having a turnover every week or two, maybe a month or two here and there so smells fishy. Let's not give out the ID until we check if this is all legit or not. They then can chat with UCO and perhaps call in the owner of the unit and read the riot act and explain why they will not be issuing any more IDs or gate passes for this unit until proper lease procedure is followed. BUT IT IS NOT UP TO UCO TO APPROVE OR NOT - ONLY THE ASSOCIATION.
     Meanwhile, back at the ranch, WPRF had never heard of this new step nor approved of it, Sheffield O is still a disaster and for all the hoopla about the senior Levy stepping in, basically the lawyer for Kelly has allegedly told Levy's lawyer to go suck an egg and mind his own business and Salmi says it is business as usual at the association so hey, UCO, where is your  mouth now? Where are the steps you can and should take now?
     And of course, let us not forget one major item here in this whole mess. I definitely agree that there needs to be a more careful watch over renters
 AND buyers here in CV, but not this way and certainly NOT by the one who gave the orders, and orders they are indeed. Guess who? Give up?
Drum roll.......Ed Black. Yup, you read it right. ED BLACK, yes the non elected person who appears to dream of black shirts or are they brown, or perhaps even of long leather coats as he takes more and more reins of control into his hot little non elected hands. So my question here is who is running whom? Is it a shared authority and if so, then where does David Israel come off sharing his elected power and responsibility with a non elected person who gives orders! Or is David Israel using Ed Black as a diversion and he is giving the orders, or is there the last scenario wherein Ed Black is running David Israel, a much depleted Israel who has the problem of a deteriorating mind and Ed is now the Mrs. Wilson of CV, running the whole joint while David Israel sits and taps and types away on his computer toy? Any which way one looks at it, the whole thing stinks to the high heavens, reeking of nastiness and chicanery.
     This is only one flagrant example of what is not right about the current administration. Will any administration ever be perfect? No, and whoever it is, I, and others, will always be there watching out for the Village, but dear G-d, how much worse can it get than this? The DA has practically been stripped of all use and it appears that Ed and David want it totally gone, or perhaps kept alive as a dummy unit like the legislatures of all dictatorships around the world and big or small, they all operate the same way.
     If the whole thing were not so dangerous for the health of our CV it would be laughable, but it is dangerous and people, you have to wake up. The nightmare is a daymare and we are sleepwalking thru the whole thing. Wake up before it is too late and that time is quickly approaching.
     Vote Phyllis and get David Israel, Ed Black and all henchmen outta' here. For all our sakes.
