SO WHAT'S UP?

So what is going on around here? One person posted a comment that he? she? would like to see a debate on the issues. Hey, so would I and so would lots of other people, but just try to get it on. Ha! Never happen. Been there and tried that. Now go think why that should be. Even  now when there is an independent well thought of presidential candidate, Phyllis Richland, David will never come out of his corner room and leave his beloved computer to face people, to answer questions in an event that he cannot control. Oh well. Ho hum.
What else? Okay....what about the rumors that the Platinum security contract was already signed by the time the DA was told about it and that is why David Israel and Ed Black were so frantic to get it jammed down the DA's throat without proper info or time to read, especially with that teeny print and no guts or details? Just asking?       What about the serious problem that a CAM by law must be available and present at all contract negotiations and we did not have a CAM there and please, do not bring up the make believe CAM Don Foster who still has yet to pass his licensing test or requirements. So, does that make the contract illegal, null and void, and leave David and Ed open to legal consequences? Just asking.
What about violations of our own rules wherein it clearly states that our meetings are to be conducted according to Robert's Rules. Well, evidently that is more in the breach in this Village. David Israel refused to operate by procedure when there was a tabling motion put forth, a motion which takes precedence and yet, oops, he said we are not the British parliament so he can do what he wants. Part and parcel of his dictator wet dreams and his refusal to obey rules that would frustrate him and his desires. Just saying.
Then of course we have the abysmal attendance, or lack thereof, at UCO meetings. how many meetings in the past few months have had to be cancelled or just serve as talking head gatherings as there was no quorum and no work could be done. Just where are all the people? Well, my guess is that they are so tired of being at meetings for they are on multiple committees, insuring David his lackey votes, so tired that they do not show up. Oh, solutions have been proposed such as appointing temporary committee members!!! appointed for the day and of course the same names get mentioned and frantically called. Well, that is a no go and illegal, so what now? Oh, just cancel the meetings. Well, Phyllis Richland, sitting in on one asked David, actually suggested to reschedule the Bid committee until the hour of 9 AM, just prior to an operations committee meeting and then he will have a quorum. Brilliant! Hence the rescheduled Bid meeting at 9 AM on Oct. 27 just prior to the Operations meeting at 10. So simple.
So what is with this UCO? Why has it fallen so deeply into uselessness and lawlessness? Where are the people of the "holy circle" who have been appointed by David Israel to run the place, you know, those same people on committee after committee or holding multiple positions in UCO and Village positions and doing a lousy job at them all? For example, our "experienced" journalist appears to have lost her way. The other day the Times had a letter to the editor from a Palestinian spokesman. Their right. But the next day there was a responsive letter from an Israeli spokesman. Wow! Both viewpoints. Amazing. The Rag had a nasty old letter from Milton "the Patriot" Cohen, you know, the one who accused a three year old me of spitting on Korean War vets and who is best buddies with the head of Platinum Security (holding your nose yet?). which accused me of other nefarious things such as being a non patriot because I dare to question. Huh? I did think that was my right by constitutional law, but maybe "The Patriot" knows better. In any case, Joy Vestal boasts of presenting both sides but golly gee, seems to have slipped by here as my letter was never solicited and would not be welcome. Hmm, now who is anti American, unAmerican. Just asking.
So, Mj Gorge, read the blogs again and ask where the truth is, where the tough questions are and where answers are never given to these hard questions posed to them. There will be places and opportunities soon to ask for yourself. Do so and get at least some of your wishes. And look around at the people who are doing something for the Village. Phyllis is running as an independent, owing nothing to anyone, running FOR the Village, for a new day, as her slogan and theme goes. Jerry Karpf has his President's club, always bringing in great speakers and info and yesterday's was no different with the Ombudsman present and holding forth with excellent information, quite interesting. And Ed G. who has despite all odds put forth a growing newspaper where all sides are represented and all are welcome to subscribe. There are people out there who may disagree with each other on some issues but who all agree that change is needed (sorry, Obama, stole the slogan from you) and NOW!
So all of you out there who accept these facts, who know we must do something to fix our place, join in the growing grass roots support for Phyllis. She will promise nothing except better times as the rules are followed, as procedure is followed, as UCO becomes inclusive of all, as fresh air begins to waft thru the halls of UCO at 2102, as no one continues to obsess about cigar boxes and paper clips, as the president of UCO goes out to meet the electorate and hear them, listen to them.
I have great faith and hope in Phyllis's knowledge, in her ability to work with all, with her experience in UCO and her caring for the residents here in CV and who, at great sacrifice has come out again to work for the people. Delegates, listen to her. Residents, elect or choose delegates who think, who are open minded, who will vote the way the association wants, can be trusted to do that, and not, as one said, in so many words, "I vote the way I want. Who cares what they say?" And this is from a David supporter so makes for interesting food for thought. Just saying.
