First a note. At the completion of this posting, please scroll down and find the posting from late yesterday afternoon. Thank you.
Another day, another morning and yet the frustration and the anger are still there, albeit a tad cooler, though no less strong. The lies that spew out of the man's mouth, our "esteemed" steward, who claims to have done what exactly for us, is a consummate liar and my guts churn at the thought that his repressive tactics and faulty thinking could possibly be here for another two years. He must be voted out of office, despite the hold he has on the zombie delegates. We have Phyllis Richland waiting there to bring us back to where we were and lead us forward into a brighter future, all the while bearing up under lies about her. Peter Cruise repeats his trash on David's blog, and others, not knowing better, listen to poetical descriptions of meetings at David's office and do not hear of his contempt for them and the people who sit in them even as his entire UCO administration continue to neglect the residents with issues, And by the way, the whole assets recovery program is mainly a method by which to regain the assets for WPRF and there is no interest in working with associations who have empty units with mortgages on them. I have seen associations turned away even as the officers plead for help. WPRF refuses to help them nor ease the financial burden in a sensible manner that will result in paying units for the association and WPRF. They cannot see the individual trees for the branches in their eyes. And as for heart? Never there! Such stewards we can live just fine without.
And lest one think the situation out there any better, just listen to a newscast or read a paper or a news analysis somewhere. The stewards of the world, pardon me for that terminology, are the weakest ones in a long, long time, most either crooked or impotent to put their houses in order. Terrorists run rampant through their lands, government officials take bribes, skim funds that belong to the people of the country, and civil war rages in country after country because various sects and clans and tribes cannot figure out a way to work and live together in peace, even an uneasy one. Kinda like here, huh?
Again, lest one think that we in the USA are any better, think again. Just look at the list of jokers running for the office of President of the Untied States of America, seemingly the most powerful position in the free world - and yet, think again. Our most recent stewards have weakened that position in the eyes of the world. We have allowed ourselves to become the scapegoat for all that is wrong in the world and why? Because we refuse to stand up for principles any more and we run frightened, like little rabbits, from Third World countries who believe they can force us to do their bidding. We are afraid to chastise small and weak countries, let alone bigger and more powerful ones, be they friends or foe. Who do we chastise? Our allies, that's who. And yet, to whom does the world turn for money and aid - to us, the perennial parents who are ignored until the need for wallet aid becomes clear and then us, what do we do? Why we fork it over with no guarantee or promise or action extracted. And why? Because our stewards are weak, they are focused on their own needs, not the country's and they live for their rigid ideas with no thought of consequences.
Our legislators act like kids in a schoolyard only it is more serious in this case They do not hear each other in the noise envelope of their own making, shouting their chants and slogans trying to drown out the sounds of the other side. And the anger and the partisanship grow apace and our stewards fail us more and more.
Right now in the national race we have kids out there, in college, just out, who are looking at a world riven by hate and prejudice, and reverse backlash. They cannot get jobs yet see fatcats abound. They cannot marry for lack of funds. They cannot move forward, so they focus on the one man who promises it all - yet never delivering on the financial answers as to how it will be paid for. At least no plan that makes sense upon closer examination. Then we have the gang of clowns on the other side who are so busy validating their conservative principles that they shout about slashing budgets of programs that help those in need and cutting taxes to the wealthy and powerful. But that money does not get invested in growing the economy; it gets invested in higher salaries and bigger perks, in programs that transfer money overseas, off shore, in programs that bring in replacements for our American workers with those from India or China or Asian countries who will work cheaper, ask for fewer benefits.
Our stewards and their principles are awry - and so are we, people, so are we. That we have allowed the situation to reach this point, when our only possible choice for president is someone whom many people question, though I still think she is the only one who actually has the power, strength of character and determination and the experience in both domestic and foreign arenas, the only one who might actually pull it off and out and yet, and yet... who knows what these primaries will bring about.
Will there be two protest candidates up against each other? G-d help us if that will be the case or will we be rescued by Michael Bloomberg coming in as he, too, is disgusted and frightened at the thought of two protest candidates up for election. And we have allowed these to become our stewards. We have become so focused on one or two issues that we have neglected the rest as we watch as each tries to outshout and outhate the other. Even the death of a Supreme Court Justice, not one whose views I appreciated, but at least one who spoke up, unlike Clarence Thomas! - even his death has only brought about more shouting, forgetting, purposefully ignoring the fact and the precedent and the history and the right of the sitting President to appoint or give in the name of a candidate to take the seat. Now I am not an Obama fan at this point, but he has that right so why are the Republicans screaming and would they be doing the same thing were it a Republican incumbent? I doubt it, very highly doubt it. There ARE NO MORE principles anymore amongst most of our stewards, only what is in it for me, me, me.
Do I sound discouraged? Yes. Do I sound concerned and puzzled? Yes. Where are our guides? Where are our stewards and proper stewardship? Where are the morals in these people and that lack of morals and ethics can be found nationally, internationally, in state and local elections and political leadership and right here in our own Village. We, the people, have allowed it to reach this point and must accept our share of the blame and do something. Stand up. Speak out. Demand answers and proper behavior. Anything but allow the status quo. Force our leaders to be leaders, to be stewards, to care for their constituents, to be moral and ethical and if not - throw them the hell out of office and back those who will change things for the better. Out there and in here, in the Village.
