PRESSURE

There are many pressures in life. Catching up on all the shows you missed. Reading those books before they are due back. Paying your bills on time. And settling a humanitarian crisis creeps into that list somehow, does it not?
This appears to be the theme of this insane administration. Create a crisis and then holller to the skies that it must be solved, and solved in the demented manner put forth by the demented man in the Oval Office.
Truth: There is a humanitarian crisis at the border. Truth: The crisis was created by the man now screaming about it. Truth: This crisis has the country losing its humanity and has begun the turn to a dictatorial country.
Now the above are indeed pressures that must be dealt with. They are pressues that are life altering. What is one supposed to think when the government, the GOVERNMENT!! throws people into a thrown together cage, men, women, children, infants, elderly - no difference. Just get in there, sleep on the stones of the highway underpass, starve from lack of food, dehydrate from lack of water, and freeze, unless we find a torn mylar blanket we can possibly spare. As for the crying of infants and children - just ignore it! We are!! Do not tell me that it can't happen here! It has already happened. The orders are given and the orders obeyed. Sound scarily familiar?
Wait! Do not leave yet for there is so much more to share. How about the nastiness that goes along with hatred and prejudice, even unto death. Whatever one's views on the death penalty, it should be the convict's right to havea  religious person with him, be it imam, rabbi, pastor, priest or swami! And yet the Supreme Court is openly fighting this issue. And just wait for another couple of years to pass and we will be locked into the worst Court ever, destructive of our human and civil rights, promotional of hatred, religious bias, and allowing of any and all violations to the environment that business desires.
Sound like pressure? Well, it should, for if we do not put an end to this, stop the flow in midstream, we are doomed as a nation. Already, in areas 100 miles from the border there are roadblocks set up to check on one's citizenship.  Look Hispanic? Better stop. Better have proof. And how far along, how much longer till we set up new parameters. How about we check on all Moslems, all Jews, all 'foreign' looking people? Where does it end? Where does it stop? But why should it stop is the thinking of this horrific administration.
This administration is headed by an increasingly erratic 'leader', who seems to go to bed at nite thinking one thing and getting up with another, at odds with his previous one, but worse! And yet, what the hell is the matter with his ostensible political party? They are afraid, yes, AFRAID, to buck him on any issue. Want some noneligible person to read our nation's top secret data - no problem? If they are a relative of the President, then even better. Have a need for some money or some deal that will benefit big business, you are a lobbyist - no prob! This administration is open to all the negatives one can think of.
Your daughter is attacked in a school, a Christian school no less, you know, those conservative thinking peope, why....too bad! DeVos thinks sexual assault must be changed, making it easier on the accused - be fair, ya' know!! The sexual peccadillos of the president? Well, yeah, he is different, but he is such a good guy, with our interests at heart, ya' know....
Pressure on us. Pressure to change the thinking of men who think women are there to be touched, to be enjoyed, to be at the disposal of men Some men do not even realize what they are doing, such is the depth to which our society has fallen, but there is change. Pressure has begun to work. A bit.
We need more pressure from the sane members of society. What to do with a crazed individual, who months after the disaster in Puerto Rico and the disaster of our aid, screams at them when the disaster relief bill is not passed - because it is felt there was not enough money for PR to fix itself. So what? Does he want his damned paper towel rolls back? All the better to wipe up the messes he has made?
There are all sorts of pressure in life, in everyday life. Why must we allow the buildup of pressures that need not be? Why put pressure on internal relations within this country? Why turn Americans against Amerians? Why turn the country upsidedown with its vicious treatment of potential new Americans for that is indeed what they wish to be, no different than our families. Why put pressure so heavy and so convoluted that our allies do not know anymore which end is up with us and our enemies rejoice? Why allow a President who is a proven pervert, an amoral and immoral personna, a lying businessman and just an all around creep?!
The pressure is upon us. We need to fix these messes, these plural messes. No one else will do it. Pressure indeed.
