The southern states of America often have beautiful vistas, wonderful people, and sights to see, but one thing it did not have, for sure, was a visit to Alabama from Dorian. For one brief moment in time, not a great moment for Trump, one very tiny bit of one southeastern county of Alabama might have been included at the very limit of the cone, but that was it, and it was for a very brief early path guess.
However, our dear one, the man who is a legend in his own mind, decided that for some reason Alabama was going to be his focus in this deal, and thus perhaps he believed he would gain its electoral votes or whatever twisted thinking and motivations soothed him.
People are allowed to make erors. Granted. But it seems that this man's errors are forever to be turned into prescient predictions and the truth forever. Talk about 1984 and the constant reediting of news in order to make it conform to the words chosen by the leader. Lies are truth, indeed.
Why perseverate on the error? Say one got confused with the many maps and guesses. Say one was concerned for the great state of Alabama. Say he was concerned because they had been thinking of yet another golf course to be supported by the taxpayers, but say something and then forget it and go about presidential business.
Therein lies the problem. The man does no presidential business, being too busy watching TV and conservative posts and sites and receiving his guidance as to how to act that day, or rather that moment. It is an embarrassing shaming of us and our supposed leader, that this, in the midst of all the various crises in the world, this is his focus.
Why? Because the man cannot admit he is wrong. Ever. Perhaps he thinks it would be an open sign of his increasing dementia. Wrong, as we already know it and see it, but there ya' go. No logical thinking at this stage; long gone down the tubes of memories lost and forgotten, of brain power diminished exponentially and there was not much there to begin with!
The perseveration was sickening. Changing maps in a most amateurish manner, with a Sharpie! C'mon! That was an insult to the intelligence of the public. To insist that he was right only exacerbates the problem because why was he relying on such stale and outdated information when he was supposed to have stayed home from Poland and Ireland in order to watch and run the rescue operations. Lord help us if that would have happened for we would have been awash in paper towels and told the rest of the funds would have to wait as the Wall, that goddamn wall, needed funding. But home he stayed and golf he played - and one could hear the ka-ching of the taxpayers' monies funneling and dropping into the Trump Hotels' registers. So nice that we treat our President, even a demented one, with such kindness and posh accomodations, right?
So as the man falls deeper and deeper into that long, dark night, as he frightens the wits out of thinkers, as he perseverates on stupid issues, as he goes back and forth on matters of great importance. As he indulges in the wrath and ire of Alzheimer's and other dementia; as he directs funds from schools and daycares for military bases and throws it at that damned wall, that symbol of hatred and loss of the moral fiber of America. Even as we arrest 12 people protesting against ICE, people from Never Again Action: Jews Against ICE. Nice!!!!!!
We ignore the corrections given to him by experts, the advice of his advisers and that is only when they gin up the courage to speak out against his plans and statements. We slide over the study from the government itself depicting and outlining how much damage, lifelong damage, we have done to kids we have locked up for the crime of being taken by their parents to a new country for a better and safer life, and multiply that harm for those kids separated from parents, some for over a year already as parents were sent back and kids remained.
We have turned into a Keystone Kops state of being. We have turned into a shame and embarrassment in front of the world and Americans are despised for their lack of moral courage and decency, for their acceptance of such a demented and cruel man as their President.
The man has to go. If impeachment is hopeless due to time limitations and due to the cowardly behavior of the Republican Senate, then this election is crucial. He must go. His administration must go. Americans must repudiate his hateful paths, his unamerican behavior, and return to the right path and begin to repair the damage he has already inflicted upon us. Home Sweet Home, Alabama, yes, but it is also home sweet home, America. We need to reach for that again, no matter the hardship and the difficulties that lie ahead. But he must go and we must roll up our sleeves and get to work.
