In other words, where the hell are we in actually knowing where we are in life, how and when we got here and from here, whither do we go? Where are we going? Is there any reasonable map and schedule for the road trip to our new destination? How will we know what to pack for this most turbulent, challenging journey? Are rest stops factored in? Are we to be given a list of helpful answers to the ever-present chorus of "Are we there yet?"
Actually, we all, drivers and passengers alike, would love to know answers based on the best information available, with full honest answers, omitting the standard percentage of evasions, half truths, the outright lies, which appear too often in official responses to queries from concerned citizens. Show us, the questioners, the concerned, answers generated on, by, reasonable assumptions based themselves on facts and figures, on accurate, expert opinions, more than one.
While the concerns often seem local, they are not. The rules can be applicable to all. Most important, assure us, prove to us, that the very best plans are in place, be it the local construction we will have next door or a worldwide issue. To ensure safe construction practice, arsenic and other toxic dust to be contained -and not within the already challenged lungs of the senior citizens residents of CVWPB.
Furthermore, safety, security concerns must be in place for all phases of construction and after completion. Buffer barriers, substantial and permanent, entry to the Village only via our manned security entrances. Exceptions made as necessary to ensure smooth interaction with shared concerns. All explained via everyday English.
It is actually a standard applicable to life at large, the world, our so besieged and troubled world. Even as we address our personal concerns, plan our road trips and rest stops along the way, packed for all contingencies as best we can, there is a shadow over all. The manifest unplanned, wild turns and inappropriate behavior of the nation's legislators, their inability to function as a unit, to indeed serve the people, their often egregiously demented behavior and speech, more suitable to the schoolyard - it is frightening.
The pronounced fierce partisanship of the judiciary, tainted by bribetakers, political cronyism, their contempt, their refusal to an official ethics code. both implicit and explicit, with appropriate applied, not set aside, consequences, well, it cannot continue.
Certainly, not as we are today as we travel along unsafe, deserted roads, devoid of traffic until recently. Broken, ugly unusable rest stops loom at irregular intervals along the side of the road, adding to the misery of our journey. One so poorly anticipated nor planned for. We are so badly off course, so off base, as we careen, left and right, on this dangerous, broken road.
And still, despite ever mounting danger, the tension in the air almost palpable, we refuse to stop and take account, devise plans of repair, plans to meet possible contingences, unexpected turns in the road. We refuse to repair to any useable degree, the rest stops. No down time, no time to talk, to grow, to relearn trust in each other, to remember, to teach and remind us that we are all Americans or we were that once.
In writing classes the first instruction given to the students is to not fear the blank paper. Simply begin writing, even if nonsenses syllables or the alphabet. Begin, and more will come. The more familiar we are, the more comfortable we grow with that paper and the act of writing, further instruction and guidance is dispensed.
Six questions -address them and the writing will be much better, more cohesive, on a smother road. The same for us, be it on one level or another.
Who. What. When. Where. Why. How.
I hope we will rewrite our essays. Second drafts are always better.
Soon. Yesterday. Last week. Last year. Soon.
Then we can answer the questions, especially "Are we there yet?"
We can get there if we exert all that we have within us, join together, unite. A concern shared by many is more effective than a single, lone one.
Together will work better. The right road, the high road will become accessible. Efforts do bear fruit.
We see that with Yitzy, and G-d knows, it takes many doctors, many health personnel, many prayers to see him nicely, safely, positively along the way. Until positive ending is attained, and good journey complete.
TOGETHER. ONLY THAT WAY.
Our promises will come true, as we see with Yitzy, as he gets better and stronger.
Together folks, together. In concerted, united, determined, knowledgeable effort.
Together.
Tomorrow. Today.
And together.
Only and always together.
Together, always together.
United for good.
Together.
Together.
HEAL THE WORLD.
HEAL YITZY!
