So wrote one person in a comment on a social media site. His illness stemmed not from a virus, a flu, spoiled food, or any organic cause. No, this came directly from the brain and the heart, from a tormented soul, from a deep hurt that never vanishes. Why? Read the words of the posting.
"Sick to my stomach. How can so many be so silent? What are you scared of? Scared to defend basic human rights as innocent people are murdered by terrorists? There is nothing here to defend or take sides of here. If you are not outraged, speaking out, heartbroken, deeply disturbed ... then you do not care about the brutal massacre ...You would not be this silent for another minority, another country. Stand with us. Stand with Jews everywhere."
Or this bit re a vicious group of people, and shamefully, the always there traitor, the one who sides with his killer, thinking, futilely that he/she will be spared. So tragically wrong, for what it does is ease the road for the murderers to accomplish their evil ends. The same wicked, evil goals we have been fighting all our yesterdays, every today as it comes, and seemingly an eternal roster of tomorrows in the same mold.
Why is this so? I cannot explain it, for it is unexplainable. It is the inevitable result of a hatred and evil that reside in the damaged hearts of too many. They embrace their worst impulses, sympathize with the butchers of children, the beheaders of infants, the violent rapists to the point where the clothing of the victims are blood soaked to capacity, where the blood does not stop. Nor does the bleeding of their violated hearts as they watched their children viciously slaughtered, or carried off to a fate Satan knows best, encage those they carried off, and destroy fathers, husbands, friends who endeavor to save and protect families.
To remain silent is to conspire, complicitly and implicitly, aid and abet these "human animals" - and here I insult animals. Why now are newscasters, talking heads mentioning ever more frequently the to be pitied Gazans, oh so innocent, as they so bravely try to remain alive in the face of intensive bombings and looming ground invasion, to free the captives, alive and dead, including citizens of other countries a never ever to be situation.
Oh yes, it was a terrible thing Hamas did, but the rest of the Gazans are innocent. Spare them. Forego retaliation and lessons needing to be taught. Forget the rights, in fact the duty of a country to avenge its dead, to make the perpetrator pay a great price. Not for Israel. Not for Jews, evidently.
Well, here is a bit of news for all. The Gazans are not innocent They encourage their children to attack and kill Jews. They scream how proud they are of their murderous offspring. They cheer and partake of the spoils and are just as eager to torment and kill the captives or invade Israel. No, there are no innocents here.
It is crowded. So is Israel. Nowhere to go? Well, perhaps if they exercised their atrophied elements of humanity and decency, the other multitude of Arab and Moslem countries would absorb them, as Israel did with their huge inflow of immigrants seeking a safe place to lay one's head and build a life rather than developing skills as slayers of humans. No, the Gazans adopted that outlook, did they not! In fact, if the 'innocent' Gazans would give up their violence, the gates would rust in an open position.
The so pitiful plaint of "they have nowhere to go" is truly pathetic. Think again. Exactly where is the place of refuge for Jews thrown out of Israel? To which they could flee, seek haven. Their borders are closed to them, surrounded as they are, amid declared enemies. So where to go?
The answer: NOWHERE. The gates of nations would close, just as they did in the existential menace, almost a success, of the Holocaust. The world stood still and silent then just as they would and will do now. The original sympathy at the godawful attack has begun to wear off and the hedges have begun. Same old, same old.
No place to go.
Here is another piece of information.
THEY ARE NOT MILITANTS.
THEY ARE TERRORISTS.
Time all the people of the world got it straight, tried to understand the anger we have within, and the adamant refusal to accept massacres imposed on us.
No More.
Never Again.
Not just a slogan.
Together, folks, we can at least try to amend the situation, make some progress.
We have to try. We must.
