A veteran police officer has it right. She fought off murderers for hours in Sderot, a pillaged small city of Israel, subjected to the pogrom initiated by Hamas on Oct. 7. Its goal: spark a final war against the State of Israel, destroying it, murdering its Jewish residents, a first step in their stated goal of killing every single Jew on this earth. In order to fulfill this bloody goal, these oh so heroic warriors declared war, waged terror, indulged in bloodlust, against a foe of unborn ripped from the wombs which had sheltered them, infants and toddlers, killed their way through preteens and teens all the way through bereft, horrified parents and grandparents and not to forget the handicapped. Such brave warriors of Hamas! And dragged off hundreds to hold in captivity, to use as bargaining chips and deterrents to full on destruction of their redoubts planted in high traffic civilian areas. Like gathering victims to be used callously to achieve their end goals.
She said, " ... but nothing could have prepared me for this,” the officer said. “It was a battle for life, where every decision was a matter of life or death."
This is exactly what has been happening for decades. The various Arab states have attacked, invaded, terrorized the State of Israel, the only Jewish state in the world, a haven for oppressed world Jewry, a home of antiquity reborn, reinvigorated. Refusing to accept the UN decision to create two states, five Arab armies attacked, and this has been the basic status quo for all these years. But Oct. 7 was the worst day since the Holocaust.
So, to the truths of the narrative, so blithely twisted and/or ignored, depending upon the audience and the need of the moment. Land for peace? When they had the land, they rejected it, wanting it all. When they had the land, they attacked from there. When land was returned, unilaterally, by Israel, there was no real change as the PA and Hamas ruined the economy there and fought each other, killed citizens, and stole billions of dollars for themselves and their war needs. All blame for the misery they had created was laid at the feet of Israel. The false narrative continued. To be swallowed whole by the growing audience with receptive ears.
Israel was pilloried on crosses again as the world bought into the lies of Hamas, saw the crocodile tears as they wept for civilians dead because they had built military compounds within civilian areas. Cold calculations and they were right as the western nations stupidly bought it all. When Israel responded to insufferable attacks and appeared to be gaining its goals, they were pulled up short by an American leash.
The end goal of Hamas was clear. They turned down an offer of 98% of their demands for that was short of their dream. The elimination of Jewry from the river to the sea, make it Judenrein and then the rest of the Jewish population of the world. Hitler was so proud as he watched from Hell.
Antisemitism grew, lies took on a life of their own, and there was a never-ending stream of filth thrown at and about the Jews. The invective grew in nastiness and depth of accusations, devoured by an admiring, sympathetic audience worldwide. Jews again felt the uncertainty of life. Round the world. Once again, we were battling for the right to exist. Again, and again. Does it never end?
We Jews have been there, done that. Forever. And we will persist, continue to remain where we are.
Am Yisroel Lanetzach.
The people of Israel are forever.
Israel is not committing war crimes.
Civilians die because they are kept there by Hamas, cynically, brutally used as human shields to garner support and sympathy from the world.
Israel has over 240 hostages being held by Hamas and where is the Red Cross to check on them.
Nowhere to be found.
Israel has emptied its civilians from the north and south, close to half a million, but there is no mention of that.
These supposed starving, dehydrated, put upon besieged citizens of Gaza look might healthy and vigorous. Quite clean too. Sniff, sniff. Smell something rotten and fishy. Uh-huh!
The antisemitism generated before and by this war is a blot upon humanity. We have indeed lost any claim of humanity. We will not go away, lay down and roll over. Not this time. Not ever again. We have a right to live. We have a right to live in peace.
Even as antisemitism grows harder to combat as higher ranks of government and country fill up with the haters, and their cruel words and rants, we will persist, and we will prevail. We will tame the crazed howling mobs and cleanse the country of barbaric instigators.
Israel will triumph albeit at great cost. We will beat down and back the purveyors of the filth of antisemitism. As many times as is necessary. The bloodlust of crazed college students and their cynical leaders will be defeated. Education will need reforms but again, been there before.
We will always be here.
Forever.
Such is the promise made and such is the promise kept.
AM YISROEL CHAI.
