MORTAL DANGER/MORAL DANGER DOES THE LETTER MAKE THE DIFFERENCE?

Does the presence or absence of the letter T make a difference? Is there a huge air gap between what is mortal and what is moral? Actually, I think not for moral is part of the word mortal. To be mortal is to be human and to be human carries with it the responsibility of being, to being, moral. To be the best, not necessarily in a profession or talent, but the best a human can be. To feel within the connection all mortals have with each other. To act accordingly, and hence make this planet, this home of ours a better place for all. When mortals forsake the moral part of their heritage, then mortals fail, at times abysmally to the point of existential threat to life and all that makes life worth living.

My journey, my efforts to find a place for myself within our frantic world too often brings me slam into uncomfortable brick walls! Where is that wall? Where am I? All those decisions and steps of our lives, the paths we have chosen, all have affected, narrowed, for good or bad, what comes after, what we have enabled or denied. We pranced merrily through life, either unaware or uncaring of the strings of life and are greatly surprised when we face plant against that wall. BAM!! How the Hell   did we land here and now what?

It is precisely then, as we look around and see how we are one among many, all so different yet all the same. We have, hopefully, an understanding or the beginning of such, of the lines, the threads of life which connect all of us. How ignorant we have been in ignoring that, how responsible are we for that which has gone wrong on this earth. Have we played our roles and cards dealt to us, properly, positively, or have we indulged ourselves with the invective of hate, of prejudice of catastrophically wrong decisions? Have we become the spoiler in the bunch, the rotten apple and to what degree. Can we fix things, make amends or is it too late and our choices now limited in scope to those which aid us in atonement and amelioration of past misdeeds?

There are too many times during which it is impossible. to fix that which is broken, which we have broken. It is a difficult bar or standard we must strive to reach, but always, it is. absolutely necessary that we understand and act upon that knowledge, that the moral must be strongly interwoven with the mortal. To deny that, to act and believe otherwise, is to pursue evil, waste and harm. The ugly dominate with their misthinking and misbehaviors and good is shoved aside, demeaned, demoted, devalued.

We are at present in such times. We have made bad decisions, chosen incorrectly with consequences   abysmal and dismaying. When Tom Brady and Snoop Dogg have to engage in a shouting match at each other to highlight how ridiculous the words and the excuses for hate are, how blatantly ugly is antisemitism, what have we done? When a rapper has to chide the President at a Super Bowl half-time, what have we done? No, not the rapper at fault, but us, the rest of us too frightened and/or too much in agreement with this dangerous man now at the head of our government. Nor do I think    women have to take to the air. to remind all that it is a "yes, we can and yes, we will" response to Trump and his misogynistic policies.

We have empowered that man and his flying monkeys, his horrendous hit man and puppet master, Musk and the Muskrats, his manchild crew of Robo Rats, mindless, programmed to destroy, demean, and disrespect and shred this nation to the point of no return. How, in fact, is it possible that a man not elected to office, with a made-up vague title, with his filthy fingers in every filthy pie round the globe, given free rein to break this nation over his knees and bleed us out from the wounds from his barbed, forked and lying tongue.

Have all Republicans in government misplaced their balls? Are they satisfied with their third-class position in government?  Have they left it to Liz Cheney, that courageous woman to man up and take them and their misbegotten leader to task? Are they to leave it to the remaining endangered species of independent non fearful principled judges to oppose Trump and his unconstitutional illegal maneuverings? Woe upon this nation. Our false leaders are weak, suck ups to a madman. We are lost in a trackless never-ending morass of our own making, and our GPS and Waze systems are broken with no repairperson in sight.

Before you remind me that Trump is just oh so good for Israel. Think again. Where is the Hell he promised? It is way past his inauguration day, yet our people remain in conditions emulating the worst of Hitler and his concentration camps.     Powerful words? Meaningful threats and follow through? Only found are the echoes of taking credit where none is due.  Our hostages remain. The bodies remain. More will die before release. Even as the world conflates our hostages with the terrorist animals and beasts held within Israeli prisons, released in unconscionable number for each and every hostage stumbling out of the dark, dank tunnels. Skin and bones. Skeletonized people.

Israel gets words of condemnation and outrage as Trump speaks his preposterous remarks. All the rest is a deadly thunderous deafening SILENCE from the world with the accusations of injustice, and accusations directed at Israel, who, may I remind you, did not begin this war. Did not slaughter 1200 civilians and that would include Infants and children, the branding of these children. and the maltreatment of the others and of the elderly and everyone in between. Such brave, "innocent civilians" who gather to share in the joy of threatening and crowding and pushing of the hostages lucky enough to be released from Hell.

Trump. Where is Trump? Mouthing words of "sound and fury, signifying nothing". Busy playing golf, doing business on our time, appointing incompetents and worse, and shaming the once noble role of President of the United States of America. Remember when we were truly the image of the tittle? Gone.

Where the hell is the world? Absent again unless engaging in an amusing repartee, oh, so witty. All of condemnation of Israel. May God curse their miserable souls.

When the moral contribution to mortal is thrust aside, deemed of little value, harmful to one's chase after wealth and power, nothing good is actualized, certainly not for the people at large, only for the immoral mortal and only temporarily at that.  The moral part of mortal is easy for some to discard, but the wheel of life rolls around and that brick wall awaits patiently.

Perhaps one day humanity will learn, take to heart, the consequences of setting aside the moral component of mortals. That to separate the moral from the mortal is a dangerous step to take and the piper will always be paid.

Maybe one day, but not today.

Perhaps ...

On the morrow.
