Everybody loves a fire sale, even those don't like to buy things, but this is a sale the likes of which nobody has ever seen. An entire country is on the chopping block, nothing held back, no bid to be ignored. All is for the delight of all enemies of America, hoping to forfend an attempt to revive it, to allow a renaissance. On the other hand, lurking in the corners, barely lifting paddles high enough to be seen, are buyers of another sort.
These buyers of a low profile are those wishing to salvage some of what used to be the United States of America, that once noble role model nation to the world. Their hope is to find some remnants within the pieces of that nation of the sale and use them as foundational blocks upon which to rebuild that which was once the USA. Their hope at a minimum is to at least prevent any viable long-lasting creation of these enemies of humanity egregiously the polemic opposite of the once upon a time nation, the United States of America. Our America.
These salvaged pieces will hopefully enable a rebuilding of the foundation of what we once were, what we championed, or at least to use as building blocks if not the entire foundation. At least to try and move forward from there. At the very least to prevent a whole new creation a wrong creation no matter what name they give it no matter the truth they attempt to hide. The Phoenix arising from the embers of this fire sale must be a Phoenix of intense and permanent red, white and blue. True to its heritage, true to its responsibility to the world.
Ironically this fire sale arose under the leadership of a treasonous president, one who did not wish to give up his position, nor its power, nor its possibility as accession route to yet more wealth and more and more, to the point of insanity. Even more ironically, he descended from an immigrant of two generations ago, this man whose waking up thought and going to sleep thought was 'how many more immigrants can I destroy today'. He is not only leading the charge, but he is actually the very cause of it, being the match that lit the fire and ravaged through this nation in rapid speed and enormous destruction.
Furthermore, the very party, the GOP, which claimed to be the salvation and hope of this very fractured and troubled nation is the party that underwrote and championed that destruction. How? Why? Because it encouraged racial war and encouraged the reversal of every single precious right women had wrested from the benighted. In the name of equality, of destroying prejudice, of enhancing the economic health of this nation, he introduced at rapid speed and with extreme toxicity the opposite, exactly as desired.
His assumption of ruler over all branches of government, defacto dictator and monarch, followed by the cowardly kowtowing of legislators round the nation strengthened his position. Unverbalized orders of war were declared upon the brave and stalwart federal judges, with the exception of the Supreme Court, supreme only in its level of corruption and obeisance to that nefarious president. America disintegrated. In the name of equality for all, it enhanced discrimination once again, prejudice, once again, and ignorance once again, as it banned books, classic, modern, any books with which someone on some committee somewhere, anywhere, disliked. As for foreign policy, America First, that so powerfully destructive policy, was reinstated and once again, the world crashed. We await the inevitable, unless those bidders can be successful.
Think not? Well, let's take a look. Millions laid off in both public service and private sector employees The social safety net has been abolished, shredded termed unrevivable, non-rebuildable. The farming community is at an awful loss, a terrible stage causing many families to walk away from their farms, yet another food scarcity and cost crisis. Small businesses were growing with federal loans, but are now broken, unable to survive. Foreign nations are joining together, their chosen target America, once their ally, once their friend. They are having their own vengeance upon America, installing their own crazed tax tariffs, buying only from each other, with American goods banned. Nations once allied with America have cut their bonds and form their own alliances with others. Nations dependent upon the power of America to survive are now abandoned adrift upon rough seas.
But let us not forget the oh so encouraging arm raised in fist ever more prominent in Trump's and Musk's appearances. And of course, the so kind and comforting statement to "Hang tough". Guess a lot of pain is good for us, according to him, as long as he and his incompetent greedy advisers accumulate more and more power and wealth.
No, this nation is afire, a fire of egregious arson. Even the man ignited and fed the fire knows there is a fire sale and knows just what to do. Use the threatened buildings as home base for his ugly plans rife with conflicting interest, making personal wealth deals in federal buildings, a la the National Post Office. Now, he is going full in and planning to sell federal owned buildings in DC and elsewhere, and gee, where do you think the money will wend its way - if it is even legal to sell those buildings. But that has never bothered that man adn his henchmen, those flying monkeys awaiting tidbits he occasionally sends their way.
We need national firemen, first responders with integrity and grit. We need to be the supporters of these responders; we need to send finds to the bidders at the fire sale so as to salvage workable pieces. We need to use the power of the law as much as we can, push the envelope, if we are to put out this fire.
Not good, folks, not good. I have never feared for this country's future as much as I do now. Me and many others in growing numbers.
We must remember and cherish our yesterdays.
