HIDE AND SEEK CENTURY VILLAGE STYLE

     Do you remember the game of hide and seek? I can remember those long summer nights when everyone was outside, sitting on the stoop, leaning on fences and all the kids were running around. We used to play hide and seek and I can still feel the thrill when I was undiscoverable and freed all at the end. A feeling of triumph for a kid.
     I wish I could feel that same triumph as we slog through the crude version of the game here in CV with our very financial lives, the very fabric of our lives here in the Village at stake. We either see the way to the truth and vote down any of David Israel's plans for making up the shortfall he and Ed Black have brought down on us, or we go down the path to wrack and ruin as one mistake is compounded by another.
     So what is hidden and who hid it? What is hidden is the reason why we are broke. The reason why is really easy to find and understand. We are broke because David Israel, Ed Black and Bob Marshall moved money, signed checks and wreaked havoc on our funds. One million dollars was taken out of reserve funds to pay for an unnecessary paving job that could have waited another year or two or three till we completed our savings for it. We were putting away a half million dollars a year for this job and were on target for two more years. David Israel and Co., decided we needed it NOW, never mind that the money was not there. They would simply move it on their own say so. In fact, the first two million dollars of the job were spent WITHOUT DELEGATE APPROVAL.

And, of course, don't forget the over Six thousand dollars that we spent in order to get a million dollar line of credit which we did not need and was a terrible idea. Can you imagine where we would be now if we had gone through with that? We would have this crappy paving job which is going to cost us again. We would have the million dollar shortfall and we would be having to pay back another million dollars with interest for have no doubts about it - if we had that line of credit - and on terrible terms too - David Israel and Ed Black would have used it and we would be paying it back with interest.
     The numbers above are the monies that were taken from the reserves. Get a good read on them and see how at risk we were. Our accountant always leaves us with a warning that we are underfunded, that we must have at least two months necessary funds in our accounts and only by dint of hard effort was it possible that prior to the last election we had ONE month's funding in our accounts.
     And guess who was the Treasurer of UCO at this time, the time of the overspending, of the illegal movement of funds? No, guess again. Can't? Well, here is the seek part of the game - ED BLACK!!!! Yes, the two old folks were in cahoots to basically steal and misuse our money. In fact, there is serious cause here to look into criminal charges of fiduciary malfeasance and violation of the trust and responsibility of officers with misuse of corporation funds.
     Now David Israel is going to try to get you at the delegate assembly to approve another $15.75 monthly surcharge on our fees for five years and make no bones about it - that extra charge will NEVER disappear because David Israel is on a spending fee with OUR money, with YOUR money.
     The man never had to make a budget in his life, never had to plan how to pay for college, for medical coverage as he was in the Federal gold plated plan, and certainly never had to do multi million dollar budgets. He allowed himself to be led around by the nose by puppet master Ed Black and the two of them, along with the rest, played the delegates for dummies.
    It is time to WAKE UP!  Get rid of the mothballs, eat some brain food and vote his disastrous plans down before he takes the whole Village down. It is in your hands. Please open your eyes this time around. Open your ears to what we have been saying all along. Charge up your brains. And if you do not - then we are doomed. All of you - and that includes you too!
