MUSINGS OF TRUTH

     I write this post with heavy heart as my cousin Shir is still in danger, still stranded, waiting for rescue in an increasingly hostile atmosphere. We hope and pray that rescue will come at the right moment and she will return to us all, along with the rest of her group.
     I am writing to try to take my mind off this situation, at least for a bit. I skimmed through the new issue of The Rag (like my new name for the paper?) and as usual was not disappointed in its lies, misrepresentations and efforts to continue to fool the residents of the Village. It is truly becoming a joke with the biggest readership being those who have bets with each other as to how many lies and simplifications and obfuscations they can find in The Rag.
     So let's take an obvious one, the blind eye to what they themselves write. There is a huge article about the Four Freedoms, a noble topic, but they simply ignore the fact that the Freedom of Speech and Expression here in the Village in nonoperable! Repression is the word of the day. Suppression is the action of the day. Keep the truth from the people and chow down on any and all who can attempt to bring the truth to the forefront. So, anyway, next!
     We have an article by Don Foster of all people, yes, DonHOHo of note, who writes about this mysterious meeting held in the Clubhouse with two distinguished speakers. He does not write about the standing room only crowd, only that there were perhaps about 180 people there. Want to borrow my glasses, Don? Not a single word about who organized it, nor that it is one of a series of increasingly populated meetings, all organized by the Messenger Club, chaired by Ed Grossman. Yes, he is the chair, the President of this club and he does not throw tantrums; instead he acted in a statesmanlike manner when he needed to settle the crowd down, completely the opposite of you know who!
     Not a word about this growing phenomenon. Not a word about why this and other meetings on timely and vital topics to and for the Village have to presented by a club rather than by UCO. Not a word that the answer to that is simple - that UCO has a need to suppress all the truth lest they come out smelling like the garbage dump. And by the way - how and where did this "esteemed" writer get his info from as no one saw him there, nor anyone else from The Rag.
     Then of course we have the piece de resistance, the little, very small, paragraph about The Millennium Agreement, due to expire in about five or six years and utterly devastating to our Village and which needs prep work NOW. I am sure that Levy's attorneys are well into the depths of the new and increased demands they will lay upon us in any new agreement. But what does Howie O'Brien say, our esteemed Treasurer, who appears to be a quick learner at denial, denial, halftruths, and strange answers such as "because I felt like it". He may be a nice man, easy to talk to and ever polite, but this is not what we need in a treasurer. We need the TRUTH and right now, not a go along get along attitude which will assist our slide down the tubes.
     According to him and the "masters" of the Village the agreement merely "sets forth the rental schedule for the land on which all the condominiums are built and the cost of maintaining and operating all the facilities provided by WPRF....That summarizes the essence of the Millennium Agreement."
     Yes, and the Constitution is the means by which the government of the USA is run. Same difference. Same ridiculous simplification.
     Where is the problem with the runaway spending by WPRF that WE pay for?
     Where is the unbelievably expensive cost of the Clubhouse to us wherein we pay for everything but have barely any sayso about what goes on within it?
     Where are the clauses which tell of how we provide Mark Levy, the multi millionaire - if not billionaire - with a fancy car and we provide one to his wife as well! Yes, you read that correctly.
          I could go on and on but have not the intense drive to continue this morning. Most of my head and heart are elsewhere, far across the sea and into the mountains of Nepal and a lovely home in Israel. But the truth is always there, ready to be exposed and not by The Rag either. Keep an eye on the blogs and on the newsletter put out by the Messenger Club wherein the truth is told. In the meanwhile, please keep Shir and her friends and indeed, all the people of Nepal in mind and pray for them, that help comes and in time to help. I thank all of you for kind thoughts and encouragement.
     So - a postscript or two. First the ones responding to some petty vicious minds. First of all, no one is blaming anyone in the administration for the Millennium, you idiot. Read it and see. If anyone is to blame it is Kurt Weiss but UCO  IS to blame for not starting to work on new agreement terms.
     Now for the vicious petty mind of Ed....er Fred...er anonymous....er coward   ...if you cannot have sympathy and understanding for a relative in an agony of fear and concern then go to hell - fast!
     Finally for a great postscript and a thank you to the Lord above - we received news today that tomorrow, G-d willing, the Israeli army will be able to rescue my cousin and the others with her. A great rock has been lifted off the chest of many. G-d has heard our prayers and hopes. When we get the email tomorrow that she is safe, then truly, our cup runneth over.
