DEAR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS,
THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE ONE OVERRIDING ISSUE THAT UNITES MOST GROUPS IN CENTURY VILLAGE IS TO BRING AN END TO THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.
I WAS RECENTLY APPROACHED BY MEMBERS OF THE C.V. MESSENGER CLUB. THEY ASKED ME IF I WOULD CONSIDER RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF UCO IN MARCH OF 2016. I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY FORWARD TO DEFEAT THE INCUMBENT WITHOUT THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF ALL THE GROUPS IN CENTURY VILLAGE. I DID EXPLAIN TO THE MESSENGER CLUB MEMBERS THAT I HAD STRONG FEELINGS AS TO WHAT TYPE OF ADMINISTRATION I WOULD PUT TOGETHER IF I WON AND THAT THEIR SUPPORT AND INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED BUT I MUST MAINTAIN MY POSITION AS A TRULY INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE.
UPON REFLECTION OF THIS DECISION, I REALIZED THAT THE MESSENGER CLUB’S GOAL IS TO BRING ABOUT POSITIVE CHANGE TO OUR VILLAGE. CALLING THIS GROUP MALCONTENTS A PEJORATIVE WHICH WAS THOUGHT TO SHRINK THEM INTO OBLIVION DID NOT AND WILL NOT WORK. MORE AND MORE PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THIS ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A VOICE FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NO VOICE IN CENTURY VILLAGE.
SO, I NEED THE HELP OF ALL ORGANIZATIONS IN ORDER TO WIN THIS ELECTION AND BRING ABOUT THE CHANGES THAT ARE NEEDED.
WE MUST RETURN TO THE PRINCIPLES WE ALL BELIEVE IN. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY, TRANSPARENCY, OBEDIENCE TO THE WILL OF THE MAJORITY AND FINALLY RETURN TO AN ERA OF LEADERSHIP IN WHICH EACH AND EVERY RESIDENT IS TREATED WITH THE RESPECT THAT IS DUE THEM.
WE NEED THE VILLAGERS TO STAY INVOLVED AND HOLD THEIR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE DECISIONS THEY MAKE.
AS COO OF A LARGE COMPANY, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT A GOOD MANAGER IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HER SUPPORT STAFF. THAT IS WHY I WILL REACH OUT TO ANY RESIDENT WHO WOULD BE WILLING TO BE PART OF THE TEAM TO MOVE CENTURY VILLAGE FORWARD.
I WANT TO BE THE LEADER THAT WILL BRING HARMONY AND A UNIFIED UCO DEDICATED TO OUR RESIDENTS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME,RESPECTFULLY,
PHYLLIS RICHLAND, CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT OF UCO.
