I can remember those days. Nothing would satisfy the kid. Nothing. Cry for this, cry for that. It didn't matter. There was no satisfying the child, and to be perfectly honest, many were the days when the boss was the biggest toddler whiner around. Even today there are days when we cannot find a place for ourselves. We meander the house, open and close fridge and cabinet doors, flip the channels and put aside book after book.
But what happens when this is not a personal moment of temporary duration, but rather a seemingly never ending national crisis wherein all of one Party cry one day for this, get it, now want the opposite, get it and whine again for what they already had. Such is the Republican Party today.
Never mind the rules; never mind that Republicans are in the room already. We ALL want in. Why? So all will be known. Publish the information. Formalize the inquiry. Demand after ridiculous demand, for every time one is granted, the opposite is demanded. Again and again.
It has been thus seemingly forever. Nope. Trump never said it. Never did it. What? It did not matter - just obstruct, lie and contradict. The bigest whiner and liar gets a prize. What? Perhaps a burger snack with the biggest creep of all.
Besides, we were told, okay, say Trump did cross the line, many lines in fact, acts irrationally, is functionally illiterate - so yeah, okay, we admit it, but actually what he did is fine. Just different and isn't it nice how friendly he is with our enemies?
Then of course we have the piece de resistance: he is above the law. Any law. Ever. And included are all family, friends and business associates and organizatons! This has been stated in courts by lawyers who have decided this is the way to go. The only way. But do not forget the ace up the sleeve. The spineless abomination of the remnants of the party of Lincoln is in the majority in the Senate and they will never vote to convict. Never.
Such is the miserable, awful, uncomfortable, highly unAmerican, law abusing day we are having, seemingly going on forever.
We do not know what we want. We do not want to admit culpability nor fault and all the fridge doors and cabinets are empty of what we need and want. We both need and want a proper end to this. The man should simply resign and let America get on with the business of being America once more.
Unfortunately all the supposed adults in the party of Trump have lost their way. Personally, I think Trump will go down in history as being right up there with all the other tyrants and destroyers of all that is good in mankind. What should we want is a better question and I believe we all know the correct one, but will all the adults be adults and do the right thing? Not so sure of that - and terrified of the consequences,
