NOT ANYMORE

      And there we have it - the sentence of the times. This is what Jake Tapper told Colbert, that he does not book those people anymore - the liars from the Trump campaign. And finally, we have the answer to much of the problem besieging us. Just do not give them airtime, any more than we would walk into an asylum and publicize the antics of the inmates as predictive and explainative of present and future situations.

 It is the simple rule that teachers and parents have known for generations: do not give bad behavior, silly antics, the attention grabbers, any attention and they will drop off. Then, one can proceed with sense and understanding to deal with the issues at hand. 

Simple, yet ever so hard for the media to understand these past four to five years. Understandably, it was difficult, as how does one ignore the antics of a toddler, a brat, living inside the hulking body of a supposed adult, a President of the United States at that, whose every action, every word, has consequences of enormous importance and influence. And so on went the mad antics and down went the country.

And then it got worse, for this same madman, the same crowd of shivering and whimpering sycophants surrounding him, went on a tear, rallying the worst of the nation and then, worse than that, drawing in desperate people looking for an answer, a scapegoat, for the horrors of a world turned upside down. So along with the racist groups of Proud Boys, QAnon, the OathKeepers, the Three Percenters, along with the chanting hatemongers, the deluded and encouraged people marched, praising the "fine people" who chanted "Jews will not replace us", whose behavior encouraged and allowed people to act on this chanted hatred and increased the hate crimes of 2019 to the highest level in a decade. Is it any wonder that the threats appeared to be echoing the rise of Hitlerian fascism, a most frightening thought and increasing reality.

Throughout his entire lifetime, Trump has used the accusations and shouts of rigging and fraud in every contest of his life, be it in bidding, or running for election. It mattered not, for the man, this demented man, could not, cannot, ever grasp the idea that he has lost, definitively so, and thus he creates his own maelstrom of temper tantrums worthy of the booby prize in life. But, this behavior is not funny as it drags along with it the confused and vulnerable people who follow him through fear, through desperation, through limited eyesight, through emphasis on one point to the exclusion of all others, and it just makes me see red - and not the red of those damned MAGA hats that are the newest forms of dunce caps!

Under this administration we have lost more Americans than ever before. We have thousands of cars lined up for Thanksgiving food, people who have never done this before, who used to contribute to this food distribution. We have a gloomy and despairing winter ahead, more deaths, more infections, more lockdowns, and yet another attack on the economy. Plans for distribution of vaccines, if found to be effective, are almost nonexistent, as nonexistent as cooperation on transition. Denying reality does not make Trump a winner nor does it negate the future - of millions more infected, hundreds of thousands more dead, a morbid economy, a devolving world, and governments which turn on their people.. And yet, the delusions that people allow themselves, persist, and we are the worse for it.

We are the worse for it on the national and local level. We have the same delusions, the same desperate power seekers hanging on to the inept, way past sell by date needing to be ousted local leaders. From David Israel here, to Goetz, to Rubio and Scott, to DeSantis, to Perdue and Loeffler, to Omar and Tlaib, all these leaders do is grow hate, grow ineptitude, grow uselessness, grow harm to the respective constituents. They need to be changed, to be retired, to be put out to pasture, where they can do no more harm.

The fight is not over, the struggle continues. It is a constant struggle and we must realize and behave accordingly. All it takes is inattention, growing, and growing, and the danger increases as the incompetents, the unqualified, the haters, take over the joint and then the swamp waters rise to cover us all with the sludge that these people create. Not a good life, not a good future. Anyone for new President for UCO? Enough of David. Enough of the weaklings who go along with him. Retain the best and chuck the rest. We can do it We must do it. Period.
