Great question. Allows for open ended discussions, multiple answers, and soaring, outside of the box thinking, perhaps also allowing for solutions to heretofore insurmountable problems. Unfortunately, this is a site from Marvel Comics, allowing for fans to pose questions and answers and travel, along with their imagination, high and wide. If only, if only, we could do the same in reality.
Our reality today is ugly. It is not the animated version found in the Marvel site, but rather exists in the blood and tears, the pain, of a nation and its people. Perhaps we can take comfort in the fact that some are willing to say openly what is needed, but the disconnect between words and actions remains in place.
“We just need to come together and save these families from a potentially catastrophic set of circumstances" “Infrastructure is exactly the kind of subject that Congress should be able to address across the aisle,"
After reading those words can one not question why, why then are we not discussing? Why then are we not solving these problems? Why are we continuing this partisan war all the while people, real people, are being squeezed? Why then are we sitting on our thumbs while people die in droves, once again. Reality is getting tired in a big way, is it not? What if ....we actually, seriously, put partisanship warfare and quests for power aside, actually had representatives in DC do their jobs and serve the people rather than themselves.
What if has failed us so far in so many ways, but what if, perhaps, there is a slight aroma of pending co-operation. Perhaps that is all wishful thinking, though wishes are not horses galloping down the driveways of America rescuing the people are they? No, for due to the amazing intransigence of the GOP once again we have an active COVID crisis, hospitals jammed, personnel exhausted in every way possible. All the while, those who ranted and raved against the vaccine are now 'unmasked', found to have been vaccinated, ameliorating the effects of the disease on them. However, their constituents did not. They heeded the false words of their leaders. Now they are dying, alone, in pain, too late, even as they beg for the vaccine. Wishes...
Yes, these politicians who played games with people's lives are guilty of much. How do they sleep? How do they continue to spew words of hate, words that incite violence, words that lead to death. In my book they are complicit in, at the very least, manslaughter, as they aided and abetted the would be First Leader in his mad quest for power, to the point of suborning and inveigling lies, national division, and continues, to this very day, to threaten the survival of democracy within the borders of this country. We did not realize, we are told, the extent to which he was willing - and did - to corrupt all those around him. Nor did we take into account the willingness of those around him and those in states far away from DC to acquiesce in their corruption, cheering as they destroyed their own futures.
That man and the imminent danger he poses to this country, to its people, must be contained. The DOJ and his own legal beagles state witnesses can testify. We all knew that already, though his posturing and tantrums frightened too many and as the saying goes, "got away with murder". Actually, considering the approaching number of 700,000 dead, now consisting mainly of the young, between the ages of 20s into the 40s, who are falling ill, requiring hospitalization and dying, well, hmmm.....
He is not done with us. His supporters are not done with him, spending millions at his properties, using the moneys donated to shore up his business. The corruption, the imminent danger, the immoral behavior, all continue, much to our detriment.
Yes, words are beginning to overcome other words, but more is needed. Taught the pen is mightier than the sword, I am not recommending the actual use of weaponry. However, our words must become more adept, more forceful, in choice and use. They require supportive action. Then, and only then, we can consign this man and his creepy dudes behind bars where they belong, long since. Then perhaps we can rebuild this country, have civil discourse, and insure the survival of democracy.
Sans that, well, read the lines and between the lines. One does not have to be a genius, only honest with oneself, who can see through it all to the actual truth and reality. As the editorial in the Daily News put it: "No one is above the law. And that means everyone."
We're a-comin, a tad late, a tad too slow, but start looking over your shoulder. The country is beginning to return to sanity. Let us hope we remain on this road and do not go astray again, using the very incorrect on and off ramps. We have come too near the point of disaster. That must be no more.
