HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  Anyone there? Anyone paying attention? Anyone home? Where the hell is everyone anyway?! There have been times throughout the history of mankind when those who should know it all are absent from the wheelhouse. They either truly did not see it coming or deliberately looked away and kept on their destructive pathways. Whichever, whatever, their countries, their empires died and history moved on. Sometimes good and sometime not so much, but move on it did.

The question now is where exactly are we, the USA, on this spectrum of ignorance and denial, willful or not. Not sure how definite and definitive one can be about that statistic, but looking at generalities and behavioral modes - well, watch out. The bricks are crumbling, the entire edifice is at risk. As are those residing within. Us.

At times, some refuse to give up their heroes. For example, no matter what people dredge up re JFK and RFK, they remain heroes, examples of the what could, would, should have been proponents. I guess I am among them, for struck with JFK admiration in sixth grade, I have not veered far away from it. I know he had some clay feet issues, but then again, so do most people. However, he had a joie de vivre so positive, so contagious, that he inspired a generation and more. When Sirhan Sirhan killed RFK, well, that was the end of the dream for many. Looking back, there was the seed that grew and grew until its roots provided for today's awful reality. 

For Trumpism.

Americans have given up on hope. For the most part, they have given up on unity, more likely to take pleasure in poking the bear rather than soothing the bears among us, co-opting them for a better society. The poking grows in severity and negativity and here we are. Here is the anyone we are looking for, the everyone that needs to continue to buy into the American dream, its promises, even if somewhat altered. But so many are falling away.

When is enough enough. Literally hundreds of thousands of people dead right here in this country, millions affected and the numbers of the world are  catastrophic. Yet, yet, when is this information, the statistics enough to force fake reality to implode,  for people to understand the dire reality of it all. The edge of our cliff is crumbling, eroding and we are balancing on a thin edge that we hope and pray will remain intact. We deny it, and persist in not doing enough to maintain that ridge, build upon it, erecting a sturdier, more trustworthy basis.

When is enough enough? The terribly misguided, dangerous cult of the former President is a clear and present danger to this country and yet, again, there they are. All the Fascists. In the Senate. The House. The gubernatorial level. The state legislatures. Right down into the pebbles of the base. A base which has been hoodwinked into ignoring the existential threat that man presents to them. They are dying, literally dying, as they followed his mandate of no vaccine, no masks, though it was okay for him. They have grown so enmeshed in their misbeliefs that even when he retreats on those positions, they boo and refuse his words.

His followers are now frightened. The dirt on them, on Jonson, McCarthy, McConnell, Gosar, on all of these homegrown fascists and dupes, has been increasingly uncovered. They are running for their political lives, the reality of prison in their futures. Well deserved too for the mess, to put it mildly, they have created. They have allegedly engaged in a treasonous conspiracy to overthrow the democratic framework of this country. Not good enough for them as they saw loss of power acomin' down the track. 

Now they maintain a negative stance, block everything, deny, lie, do all to avoid the truth and keep the proof secret. Awful plans to deny women their rights. Taliban rules far away? To gut voting rights, turn back the clock. To encourage hatred and prejudice among ALL. To discourage true patriotism, replace it with nationalism and cult personality government.

Again, when is enough enough. The rage of those vaccinated, masked, attempting to remain safe, to defeat this scourge of mankind, to have lives once more, that rage is growing towards those who refuse to do so. It is a rage that grows the divide, deepens the abyss. People grow increasingly deaf to the similarities among us, see only the differences, allowing them to play a larger role in the destruction of this country. 

As for the deniers of reality and medical proof? They, too, need to get off the dime and get with the program. No one will blame them - no one of the thinking variety, that is. Those who deny reality will continue to die, continue to see loved ones die, friends die, all for the lack of common sense. No one to blame here other than themselves. Tragic.

So hello out there. Hope someone remains home, to answer the doorbell, to pick up the phone, to keep this country at a maintainable place, and better yet, a place where rebuilding is possible, desired and encouraged. Anyone can be part of this positive movement. Anyone can participate and contribute. Everyone should. Let us all, every one of us - answer the call.
