Today is a different day. Today, despite all that has taken place, that is ongoing, despite all the rich material available, nope, not today. Today is a different day. A day for hope, for love, for dreaming, for thanking the good Lord Above for allowing me to have this day.
No time for ugliness today. No room for the negative emotions that cripple us all, the anger rampant throughout the nation. Nope, not today. Not for me and not for the thousands of others who also have a similar opportunity. Today, maybe, just maybe, with all the positive energies, thoughts and dreams, with all the hopes and wishes, maybe, we can initiate the seeds, the beginning of a better world. Not today, not tomorrow, not even this year, or next, but soon enough as time does indeed fly by.
Over 55 years ago we stood together under the canopy, taking our steps together into the future, such a very different time than the present. We shared the usual dreams, worries, of all young couples, but hoped and prayed and worked hard to build a family, a life together. It seemed as if we had all the time in the world, all the energies necessary to build that life, to attain dreams and incorporate new ones into our lives. We looked forward to the days when we could sit back and reap what we had sown.
Before we knew, time had flown by at an amazing pace. The kids were out, married, building their own lives, bringing up their children, dreaming their own dreams. We were blessed, are blessed, with wonderful grandchildren, thought life could not get any better for that blessing, that gift. There is nothing to compare with the pure love of a grandchild or a grandparent for each other.
Each one is a favorite. Each one is the repository of our lives and the lives of all who went before, who managed to stay safe in a dangerous world and kept the chain ongoing, strong, determined. How could anything be better? How could we expect, or even ask for more? Well, we along with so many others, had a dream of yet more. We were lucky to be alive in a time when there was such a possibility, so different than the times of our grandparents. And so we dreamed further on.
Today is the day. Today is the wonderful, blessed, gorgeous day when we see a dream come true, with the possibilities endless. Today, we join others as they glimpse the future. As they gaze with adoring eyes at the new little person in their lives, the ones they immediately wondered how they could ever have lived without.
Today, they gaze, as we will, at the future all tied up in one tiny being. There is the future. There are the dreams and possibilities of humanity. There are the nightmares as well, the ones we hope, pray, work, to enable them to achieve, and avoid, fixing, repairing the broken world we have left them. And we pray, plead, ask of any Power we believe in, to aid this little package, to allow him/her to benefit humankind, to erase the errors and consequences of yesterday and build a wonderful golden future for all.
It will be a difficult uphill climb, but we know, in our hearts and souls, that these little ones can and will grow up to save the world. In the meanwhile, we love them. And thank G-d we have lived to see them, to share in their lives, not even a thought as we stood under that canopy.
Today, there is no outrageous behaviors of creeps. Today there is no room for negativity. Today there is room for hopes, for dreams, for love.
Today, we see our brand-new first great grandchild, our adorable tiny determined already with a personality great grandson. May he be blessed by the Lord Above. May he stand in positive auras and dreams and may our love carry him, be with him, for the rest of his life.
And may he grow up to be a source of pride and goodness for his people, and never ever forget that there are always others to take care of, to free from bondage, to rescue from the dungeons of the world. To see that there are no more cases such as this, where the glory of seeing that new being is forever denied. When one person is oppressed, so are the rest of the World. Let all our new little ones, so precious, know, understand and see to it that there are no more -
