ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

So sang Donna Summers and Barbra Streisand in an iconic duo and so many are singing today, albeit not in such magnificent tones. We are beginning to realize that the road trip begun with good intent, that looked so promising, has turned into an   unpaved path barely negotiable and the wounded and discouraged are falling by the wayside.

This path has entered a field of extremity. All is exaggerated within its borders and the way out of this morass is undetectable. Or seems so. Are we condemned to remain in this disaster zone due to our own actions or can we feel a way out, hard won, but there.

Will we be able to finally understand that extremism is never an answer, and inevitably morphs into an ugly scene, a perversion of good into massive evil. History has lessons for us, but we are deaf, blind to them, persevering in that dangerous path, again and again and again. It turns into a drive equivalent to the Salem Witch Hunt, the French Revolution, the Civil War and others all over the globe throughout the centuries. Can we learn better in time, to change?   That answer remains unknown, but time is growing short to find the correct one.

There are evil tides in humanity's life, and when that happens, if not alert nor intuitive enough to understand that these 20-foot swells bode no good for humanity, then we are lost. Period. Witch hunts and demonization ensue, swell to heights unknown and we will drown in a flood of our own creation.

Here is where I venture into dangerous land. This country, in an ever-ongoing self-examination of our past, where we went wrong and how to amend the situation began to slip into an extreme dichotomy of viewpoints, defeating, rejecting, on both sides any possibility of discussion, compromise and understanding.

We are reinventing the McCarthy era of disastrous venomous hearings where the apparent goal was to demonize, vilify and demean all who refused to follow them into extremes. Today is a similar situation. It was revealed that as a nation we had much to do to defeat prejudice and bias. Steps were initiated. Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. Once words of hope and good faith, they spiraled into hammers which with people were hammered. Negative reactions from those who felt pressured beyond all acceptability occurred.

People resisted the implementation of the D.I. E. in various aspects as it affected them, and factions on both sides reacted, prompting more reactions, dooming the program and negating its positive goals. Yet it was whipped like the proverbial dead horse, inducing more denials, more antagonism, even reached a point where original supporters were turning away, disgusted by the disaster of its presentation and implementation.

Negative response programs, rife with retrogressive thinking, dead memes and tropes were resurrected, biased, replete with inaccuracies, downright lies were developed, such as DeSantis's proud, oh so proud, curriculum. Off to the races on a very rainy day on a packed earthen racecourse. No one was getting away clean on this course, for there was an oversupply of mud, enough to go around and then some. Lines became set in stone and we were in deep trouble, actually ARE in deep trouble.

More tomorrow as we segue into an ugly, heinous, outgrowth of our newly recultivated horrors of the past.

Tomorrow.

Even as we work again and always for unity, for togetherness, for that is the only way back if we are to succeed in restoring sanity and harmony among us.

Tomorrow.

And together.

Together. Only and always together.

Together, always together.

Together, united for good.

Together.

Together.

We can heal the nation.

HEAL THE WORLD.

HEAL YITZY!
