Perhaps it is actually a good thing to be unsure. These days, some are so sure in their beliefs and opinions, blinded by it, that they are incapable any more of seeing truths contrary to them. They cannot see either the forest or the trees, so hedged in are they by the weeds in their mental, emotional, and factual minds. Unable or unwilling, to perceive errors, they persist and even worsen.
Too many trailing along camp followers of these beliefs are highly inimical to the freedoms they spout, even as they demand its limitations on those now deemed 'others', a growing category today within our nation. The runaway train of hate, of consignment of so many to back of the bus status must be stopped - dead in its tracks. How to do so - I hope there are those brave enough to speak the truth, ears enough to listen and hear the truth, and the means and modalities to fix us. Just fix us and soon, very soon before we, as a nation, implode and explode at one and the same time.
Increased respectability of hatred and bigotry, a growing tendency for men to be men by demeaning women, restricting, rescinding all the progress made in gaining equality and recognition as such. Paper thin disbursement of hatred in its many guises, vile, needing to have been terminally cut from human society. Actually, many see the truth but are afraid to speak out lest they too be caught in that same net. Or those who could care less, or worse, those who support vehemently this ugliness.
There are too many among us who foment violence and hate. They provide the fuel, the wood and the matches and the nation burns. Our very foundational thinking is challenged These attacks are championed, and the dregs of society are too often becoming members of highly perverted legislative and judiciary bodies. The future looks bleak.
There is lots more to be said on this topic and I believe that what I write tomorrow will annoy many, cause me to be cursed or hopefully praised- at least for my bravery in stating unpopular truths we have denied for far too long. Tomorrow I will continue. I hope you read it with an open mind, once a treasured trait. Rather than demeaned as it is today.
In the meanwhile, think and be honest.
So many supposed leaders ae calling for unity, but refusing to take even a tiny, wee, little baby step onwards and upwards, enacting, creating, believing, in the advantages of thoughtful and responsible compromise and discussion. Of trust and faith. Of high standards, now trodden into pulp neath the feet of too many.
Together with goal and aim for the good, with discussion, compromise, acceptance of the positive and spurning the negative is the only way. And always together, for there is power in the group that is denied to the individual. Unity can conquer much, effect necessary change.
Tomorrow.
And together.
