HAVE YOU HEARD?

  Today's perusal of the news was a journey into absurdity. More apt a name is journey of futility and amazement, though it is not a new phenomenon these days, no, these years. We are so deeply embedded into the soil of Alternative Truth Land that we cannot separate the truth from the lies, the real from the tired old retreads of fantasy.   

As I read or listen to the news, guaranteed to raise one's pressure, there is an immense feeling that one is now experiencing a huge entry into the world of deja vu. It is certainly an ugly world, gray in its dreariness and despair, nary a ray of sunlight, any light breaking the immense expanse of weariness and apathy, along with hate and greed. The politics within are dirty, underhanded, tiring to the soul, lacking even a smidgen of true public service, loyalty to a country and constituents.  

"Trump said" - why do we give airspace and print to spare to a demented man entering final phases of dementia, his viciousness and propensity for lies stronger in the growing world of fog and darkness.  The manifest sadness of entry into the smothering never ending long, dark, confusing world does not excuse the media who validate his dangerous verbiage for far better to pay it no attention and let it die on the branch, rather than sprout more seeds of hate and destruction.   

Even as his lawyers are engaging in fantasies of legit defense against his profuse indictments, he so graciously offers himself up to the GOP to serve as interim Speaker after that shameful debacle the other night. The discombobulated GOP, caught in a web of their own making, reinforced by cowardice, and the presence of wildly incompetent, dangerous extremists, is consuming itself. Choosing obsolete tactics rather than declaring a loss and restructuring, they fight to maintain a Party which is no longer a party, devolving into an amorphous mass of arguing negative men and women, seemingly skilled only in the art of incitement, falsehoods, and raging incompetence, meshed oh  so well with their rabid extremism. 

Schumer had the right answer to their stupidity as they waxed enthusiastic at the thought of installing a tainted indicted (soon to be convicted, hopefully) individual as Speaker, so close to the seat within the Oval Office. Again! As that most unappetizing woman, Greene, waxes rhapsodic, drools at the mouth like the lunatic she is, in response to this boast.  Donald Trump is the leader of our party," he said. "We need to embrace that. We need, as a conference, a Republican conference to bring Donald Trump into the fold and let him continue to lead us as the American people, as the Republican Party has chosen Donald Trump. He will be our nominee. I think it just makes sense." 

 "If Trump becomes Speaker of the House, the House chamber will be like a Trump rally everyday!!

It would be the House of MAGA!!! 

Schumer's answer puts it right back where it belongs with a cutting statement of truth. 

No thanks, we’re good. We’ve seen a Trump rally at the Capitol already.

Retread news, retread dangerous incitement, traitors to their vows. Filthy politics in the Party, heavy involvement in the Jan.6 rebellion. The ugly absurdness of "Podiumgate" in Arkansas (more on that in another posting). 

Even as would be destroyers of America as a democracy say, "It's done", we know it is not.  However, to ensure a positive outcome in this existential battle for the soul and continued existence of America, we must harness the power of all, in a togetherness unseen before in modern days. We need to remember who we are, who we are meant to be - an America of pride and righteousness, who admits errors and goes on to improve the world and itself.

We need to raise our voices as one with the synergetic power of the many acting in concert.  

We have seen that power in action with Yitzy. We firmly believe that all those voices raised in prayer for him is a big part of his positive path, of hope for a good life, a good future. For the bravest boy I know.

We need that voice, all voices for hope, of freedom, of democracy to fight against the evil growing within the nation. The antisemitism. The voices which speak increasingly with violence, in shootings in schools, the streets where we live.

We need to act. We need to be strong.  

Together.

Tomorrow. Today.

And together.

Only and always together.

Together, always together.

 United for good.

Together.

Together. 

We can heal the nation.
