Really? Truly? If so, what a damning statement. It portends for a future eminently unlivable, certainly in any humanitarian manner. For sure, if justice and wisdom are opponents incapable of living together, two basic foundation stones of civil society, then we are indeed lost, almost beyond any chance of rescue.
Through carelessness and even via malicious intent, we have stumbled or been directed into an ambush of awaiting quicksand, a pool of disaster from which we cannot extradite ourselves. The only possibility of rescue is by the one who maneuvered us into that situation, one in which two basic tenets of humanity cannot coexist. It is either Justice or Wisdom. No rescue unless blackmail demands are met. Hence, a decision for life means abandonment of justice. Wisdom has become perverted, co-opted, and demands concessions having no connection with true Justice.
What a Hobbesian choice! What is left for us? What help remains for us if this is indeed the case? Yet today the unthinkable is the reality and there remains little time to prevent the quicksand of venality and injustice from taking us completely down, no rescue, no future. The supposed guidance from several eagerly presenting talking heads contain contaminants of severe potential of endangerment. Presented as advice, well meant, their words actually cause further encasement within the quicksand.
No more will be the truth, or hopeful truth of the maxims of the past. "Right makes might.'" "The pen is mightier than the sword." Trashed! Instead, we have the ugly truth: A picture is worth 1000 words. The ugly outlines and details of that picture grow ever more distinct and discouraging. Indeed, an ugly world!
But why must be so. Why must we believe the naysayers who tell us that present attempts by Israel to defend itself against Hamas and their ilk is useless, comparable to the world of Bar Kochba, a Jewish hero for all time. He chose Justice, the right of the Jewish people to an independent state. Wisdom said not a chance of victory, the tiny against the mighty power of Rome. Right certainly did not make might in this case. Wisdom, the possibility of survival, demanded surrender. Justice to be left by the side of the road. Bar Kochba chose Justice. He lost the battle.
Two thousand plus years of exile and deep longing for a return to Tzion, their ancestral homeland. Now the tiny State of Israel, ever fighting for its life. Is the Justice of the cause to be rolled over and under the wheels of a perverted Wisdom? This perverted wisdom demands concessions, to turn victory into defeat, to accept blame for daring to resist the vicious attack upon the civilians, - is that true Wisdom or perhaps better named as Injustice. As Hate directed against the Jewish nation anywhere, anytime, for any reason - or lack thereof.
The world has taken mighty strides in the worst direction. When the western democracies. revive ancient tropes and memes and deeds of Anti- Semitism, of desire to once again rid the world of the Jews, deny their contributions, well, we certainly have trouble right here. in River City, USA and France and England and Belgium and the Netherlands and Sweden and Norway and Finland and on and on. Ironically, the nation with the best attitude towards Israel is Germany! Think of that!!!
When Jewish University students must sue for safety, must contend with artificial "Jew free zones", is there any room for continued optimism, for true Justice? Must we accept that situations tend to deteriorate and await the ugliness, the bloodshed to follow, as night does day? Must we accept the versus situation of Justice and Wisdom?
The answer is a resounding no. Justice must prevail. We must persevere. we must rebuild the world with true Justice and Wisdom, hand in hand. We must recall and internalize the lessons of history, the truth it presents to us. If we do not and soon, the ugly cloud casting dark shadows upon the world will grow even darker, ever larger. We will be lost beneath that darkness. Time to make a choice. Past time.

Yitzy, life is hard these days, especially if one is a Jew or one with any truth in mind and soul.
We need help,
And as always, our love for you is
Always and forever. Always. and forever.
