POPUP PUPPETS

  Anyone watching our 'esteemed' President last night had to feel sorry for the captive Republicans. Sitting there - actually, no, they were not sitting, as puppets on a string, popped up every time they got the reminder -that smirk on his face and up they rose. Applauding every egregious lie already proven to be false many times before.

But that makes a no never mind moment in the twisted, perverted Bizzaro Trumpian universe. Listening, one felt as if one were back in the past listening to the spiel of a quack medicine salesman hawking his alcohol laden patent medicine calculated to throw one's mind into nonoperational status. As the puppets they are, the members of the GOP stood on cue with no control over their own destiny, nor possessing any free will or even a modicum of independent thought. It was all one could do to keep the vomitus from rising to uncontrollable levels. 

The lies just kept on coming. No stoplights of truth to stand against his lies. The issues of inflation. 'Disaffordability'. Brutal transgressions of law by masked, booted, armored up criminals in actions, grossly untrained in the law other than to break it with impunity, and grossly untrained, set out to slaughter at will, excuse notes already written. All in the name of the Federal Government headed by that fascist figure, Trump, and his henchmen.  Killing in his name. 

Perpetrating horror and self-decided executions of those 'guilty' of the terrible crime of having brown or black skin or speak with accents or simply stand there opposing this gross miscarriage of justice of countless repetition. Oh, the crime? Well, reread the sentence above and then add in the crime of seeking a better life in the same place our ancestors - or ourselves- did. America. 

Then finding out that this dream nation, this fabled land of dreams fulfilled, of opportunities available nowhere else had turned tail on its legacy and reverted to the worst years of its history. It immersed itself within a reeking stinking pool of prejudice and corruption. Of immorality and greed. Of thoughtless policies designed to break the nation's spirit and deliver wealth and power to only those thought 'worthy of the privilege'. 

Those who wholeheartedly bought into the corruption, the disease of selfishness and the total chaos of spurned morality. All who were not, were, are, subject to abuse as men and even some twisted women engaged wholeheartedly and in collusive silence to break laws, mankind's and those of the Lord Above.  A rather vigorous beginning of new chapters in the life of this nation. As it slowly at ever faster pace disintegrates and devolves from a nation of democracy to a nation of authoritarian dictatorship and immorality. Even to the point when one could visualize the inevitable next step - the anointing of King Donald.  

This is certainly not a man of the people. This is a man who admires and praises his father in the State of the Union Address. His father, a well-known racist. His father, who bought his son's way out of the draft. A man who apparently knew much about breaking laws written and unwritten. The son has not fallen at all at any distance from that tree; the same twisted roots and rotten fruit and apparently the next generation is following suit. 

The speaker for the Democratic Party knew well her opponent. She had served her nation honorably, and continues to do so, as opposed to the man in office who served and continues to serve only himself, his family, and those who bought into his gilt, his fool's gold, and applaud his maniacal   demented attaching of his name to buildings and  monuments, even to the point of dismembering the infrastructures of this nation, or adding to it rather ugly new ones, especially in the nation's capital. It is ugly. It is wrong. It is wasteful. It is grossly narcissistic. The man is insane, clearly, in the throes of advanced dementia. 

No, he does not have the moral nor the legal authority to do what he is doing. He bypasses or stomps on the laws of our nation, demeans and   belittles the format of government of this nation, OUR nation. He behaves as a god as he claims the privilege, the right, to name and rename all in his name. And no, despite his belief in his godhood, only the One Above has the right to unilaterally change things around and rename as He wishes. Furthermore, NO, this deluded man did not win the 2020 election, and I am so tired of this thinking and of those who slavishly follow, ceding all of themselves to his control. Ugly. Stupid. Corrupted. Just WRONG!

He appeals to the worst of us. To the worst within. The opposing speech appeals to the best of us. Invoking the truth rather than the lies. Who turned to George Washington, the Father of our Nation for words of wisdom and prescience, of warning, of what has so tragically become real in our times. In his Farewell Address he spoke in warning about "cunning, ambitious, unprincipled men rising to power" even as he charged the people of this nation to unite and oppose that situation. That is the sacred charge laid upon this nation -

yesterday, 

today, 

tomorrow,

Forever.

We must attune our hearts and minds only to the truth and discern the lies fed to us. We did not hear the truth tonight from Trump - no surprise. NO, for as usual, from Trump and most of the GOP, truth is not, is never, on the agenda. Nor is it always there for the Democratic Party, but certainly it was there tonight and more so than the false pap Trump contemptuously feeds the nation.  

Not a surprise.

Again we, only we, can alleviate the situation we enabled and gave life. 

On us. Always and only on us.

A judge in yet another mess regarding deportation asked, "Why should I not hold you in contempt?"

I ditto the thought but wonder why we do not hold all those guilty of this affront to justice and abrogation of the laws of this nation, of morality, equally in contempt.
