That is the question. Actually, no, it is not 'The' question, but one of the myriad questions swirling around this nation. USA Today has an entire article written concerning which president will show up Tuesday night at the State of the Union Address. Personally. I don't think there are two presidents, two versions. I think there is one demented, degenerate rather thin presentation of a pathetic soul who has totally lost his way. Not that I'm sure he ever had the way. The proper way. But at least there was once something solid, I think, though would not swear on it. Though, mind you, not in recent times. Perhaps I will listen to the opposition speech, but it sems they are all, both parties, tarnished with the same brush - corruption and non-fulfillment of their duties as leaders for this nation. Disunity, selfishness, greed and neglect of country are their descriptors.
In any case, at present, there is possibly, and I'm being generous, one to two percent of something worthwhile contained within that pathetic shell of a person. Though it emerges very, very, very seldom. And does not stay around too long, as he has this "Gift” to turn good to bad and bad into worse, and worse into worst. This has happened time and time again.
Even when he begins, for example, one of his speeches, either he never had a teleprompter or he went off, paying it no mind, he ends up segueing off into G-d knows where. And I'm not sure G-d can follow him either. Perhaps the devil? Or he breaks into a rant, as he did just last week in Atlanta where he went nuts, regarding religion and heaven and where he will go. (I could answer that for him easily.)
The president, if ever he was truly a one, has dragged this nation, in fact, this entire world, into a situation of peril almost beyond belief. But nothing illegal, immoral, evil, dangerous, or simply wrong is beyond him. In truth, it is apparently rather appetizing, be it in singular or combination format.
Perhaps even more astonishing is the fact that he not only has no shame, but much to the contrary, he is proud of his boasting, hews to the statements of idiocy emerging almost hourly, if not sooner, from his prissy little mouth generally now twisted into an ugly off-putting moue of smugness or anger. Astonishingly, he speaks often of how wonderful he is. And how he deserves all sorts of medals and honors for his efforts. Among which we can find very few successes, if any at all. For even that which might be at least a tiny bit of good generally morphs quite quickly into that which is bad.
He deserves the Medal of Honor-so he says-for getting into his plane and hopping off on yet another trip. Perhaps he'll build a ballroom or two someplace and therefore will cause peace amongst people as they dance away the night. Or how he deserves the peace prize. Any peace prize will do. As he claims he has settled wars around the globe, at least eight. Some several times, it seems. As the war in Sudan continues, as the people in Darfur starve. As an ISIS camp breaks and there goes the next generation of terrorists. As Nigerian schoolchildren are kidnapped and used as slaves. Or the ceasefire that never ceased fire even as he refused to carry out his threats to Hamas when they refused to disarm.
Perhaps, if the world does indeed survive his rhetoric, things will not be so good for America. Finally, the Supreme Court denied him permission to impose his crazed tariffs and blackmail the world with them. Now this nation, already in trouble financially, will have the rather dubious pleasure of repaying debts now owed to those people who were charged tariffs. Even though those increased costs were already passed on to the consumer and you can bet your bippy it will never be returned to them.
But not to worry. This madman who has now a rising inflation to his 'credit' has found some other obscure statement rule. which he says gives him the right and the power to do what he wants, so limitless is it these days -thanks to Congress and the Supreme Court! And so, he thinks he's going to impose a 10% tariff on the entire world. As if. As if the world will stand by and accept all his blows.
In fact, they will probably neither care nor worry, as they have already written this nation off. Off their books, off their concerns. They have established new trading blocs. New treaties. Found new allies, even if those allies were once their enemies. Anything to disconnect themselves from this madman ruling, yes, ruling, as if already anointed King of America. Soon enough at this pace. What are our choices now for this troubled nation of ours? A war, possibly extinctual. Or depression within this nation as it is ignored by the rest of the world. That will make the Great Depression look like a teeny tiny little recession. In any case, things ain't looking so good for us, are they?
Nor are things looking any better, in fact, probably even worse, in the domestic side of life. No, not talking about the fact that Melania finally moved out from his quarters and Barron wants nothing to do with him, so he has moved out of the White House as well. Or with the fact that his rather immoral, greedy, nasty children are following in his footsteps.
No, I refer to the domestic affairs of the nation. The people of this nation are so wracked by anger, by confusion, by a frightening state of feeling abandoned by their chosen leader. Or being so desperate as to cling to him saying, he will change so we will vote for him again. Oh, for sure, put yourself into the same crappy swamp.
We have been juxtaposed with the traits of Nazi Germany and found not wanting but instead doing oh so well. Shall we count the ways? We round up people we deem as 'others'. We allow, even encourage, bias and prejudice to grow amongst people. Up to and including violence and death. So much easier to control a split nation than a united one.
We use all the mayhem as an excuse o cancel much of America. Amendments, including those of free speech, and possibly soon, religion, with so much more to come as we have trashed the Constitution. Nothing and no one are sacred and safe anymore. Institutions, basic beliefs, our foundational principles, are being buried beneath new laws and even no laws, simply actions taken. Free speech in any form or tone is being squashed, and all is entangled until one cannot differentiate between that which is or should be allowed, an inherent right, and that which is not. We use all as an excuse to terrify and demean, even to kill, to shred dreams and we become that which we are not meant to be.

Beats the hell out of me, for I have long spoken the truth and reality of this ugly nasty man.
We might have already blowen the defense of our yesterdays.
We certainly, for sure, have wasted our todays.
Our tomorrows hang in the balance and the chair is wobbling.
