This has gone on long enough. Ever since he was elected into office five years ago, David Israel and alter ego Ed Black, have done all they could to kill the exercise of democracy here in CVWPB even as we lived in the USA, the biggest democracy in the world.
From the first day he began to consolidate, appointing Black as his consigliere, chair of this committee, head of that, member of yet another and elected.....oops, elected to nothing! The better to feed him more power, the better to keep David Israel in office.
Next we had the slow but steady and sometimes not so slow and not so steady firing of long time volunteers or even new volunteers who did not measure up in the one category that counted - loyalty to David Israel. Over the years more and more were thrown under the bus and his control over the reins of UCO became more and more of a stranglehold. Opponents who ran for election, be it against him or his buddies were subjected to verbal filth being thrown at them, nasty insinuations, even as he refused to debate lest he reveal both his ignorance and true plans for UCO and for the Village.
He rammed thru multi timed efforts to overthrow the tradition and law of the Village, term limits, and finally succeeded in one of the dead months of the year with few delegates here who opposed him. He refused to hear the ideas of others, threw temper tantrums at the DA a la two year olds, threatened opponents with arrest by PBSO, brought in armed guards to intimidate the speakers at the DA, this with many Holocaust survivors sitting in the auditorium and being shocked now with flashbacks to the last time they had armed guards standing over them. And this with OUR money.
He shut off the mics, pounded his gavel with a vengeance and one could see his desire to pound it on someone's head, shouted "out of order" and
"sit down" at his opponents, all in his screechy and grating voice.
He has brought great debt and loss of money to the Village, allowed the infrastructure to rot, and nearly brought progress to a halt as the few people he allows to remain in UCO are dwindling and quorums have become almost a quaint idea of the past with his new idea emerging of appointing pro tems as needed in order to get his votes. Democracy? Vanishing in the wind.
Media access for opponents was denied, with even harmless reports of a club being pulled because the speaker was one of his chief opponents - me. No WPRF facilities from which to speak or organize for Eva fell under his orders. No pools. No clubhouse. No nothing! Channel 63 was dead to us. The Reporter became the Rag and all charade of fair play, of journalistic integrity was thrust aside.
But we persevered, spoke out and won battles. We developed a new paper, one which printed the truth. But now we have the greatest crisis we have ever faced here in CV to our freedom to function as full American citizens,
David Israel has shown that he desires to be appointed President for Life, following in the footsteps of all petty and not so petty dictators, small and large, but this is not a banana republic, not a country in Africa where a militia will come out of the jungle with machetes and we will not stand for this. Nor are we under the control of a Putin.
The final step was taken yesterday wherein he has decided to shut down the pathway for amendments to be brought to the attention of the delegates. He has referred to the opinion of his attorney on a leash, Rod Tennyson, who like a good doggie always gives David Israel whatever he wants, who stated that since the Executive Board defeated the proposals it is now gone! No delegate submission. Does it say that in the by laws. EMPHATICALLY NOT!!!! But the attorney on the leash says basically that it is implied so no more amendment proposals unless David Israel and his cowering minions agree to it.
NOT SO! NEVER!
COME TO THE DA ON FRIDAY AND STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS. THIS IS A DEMOCRACY.
Delegates, you are being told you are worthless, less than useless and before you know it he will have you all gone in his relentless road to full and complete control. This is the man who enabled Donald Kelly and refused to do anything until WE brought it out to the public, who threw away over five million dollars of ours, who wanted to waste more millions on a Wi Fi plan that would have been out of date already - even if it had ever worked which it did not in Boca CV. This is the man who brought us this terrible Kent Security even as his alter ego stressed how this was the best contract ever. Huh!! Whose dictionary is he using?
PEOPLE, THIS IS A CRISIS. THIS MAN AND HIS MINIONS MUST GO. COME TO THE DA. INSIST ON HEARING THE PROPOSED BY LAW AMENDMENTS WHICH ARE MEANT TO KEEP DEMOCRACY AND FAIR PLAY ALIVE IN CVWPB.
