FAUSTIAN DEALS

     And before anyone goes nuts, this is not a reference to Fausto in UCO other than the same connection that all the people in this posting have. So first, what is a Faustian deal? Throughout history there have been rumors and accusations made about people making deals with the devil, selling their souls for what benefit they wanted. They conjured up the devil, or went to meet him at the crossroads nearby or even met a representative such as Lola in Damn Yankees!
     Personally, I have no truck with the Devil. I do not believe there is an actual figure as such and the real devil is inside us, when we lose our moral compass and sell our soul for petty benefits or even on a larger scale. When we give in to our baser instincts, that is when we make a Faustian deal, derived from the name Faust, another name for the Devil.
     Unfortunately, I believe that many of the people now elected or volunteering for UCO, and a small group getting smaller as more fall by the wayside or are thrown to the wayside, have made these deals. They have found their own devil and made the deals. And what are the results of these deals? Why did they make them? What have they lost by doing so?
     First and foremost, these dealmakers have lost much of their soul. For the "status" of being in UCO, for being able to say "I am a ----- in UCO" they have sold out, sold out on their duties to their fellow residents, sold out the goodness of their souls and for what? For the chance to say I am head of this or I have established this little new fiefdom, or I know David Israel or Ed Black? Feh!
     And who is the Devil in this picture? Make your choice and name your name. Your opinion, I guess. I know mine and it is an obvious name when we see all the deals made for this one or that to suddenly have  a special job in UCO or the sudden demise of yet another volunteer as he/she is thrown out, or the public berating of others and why they stand for this I do not know nor fathom, unless it be for the fact that they have  a job they do not wish to lose.
     Some have sold out the last itty bitty bit of their integrity and for an example just look to Joy Vestal. Did Ed Black ever have any soul to sell out - big question on that one. And where is David's soul? Another big question. We can go through every name on staff, every officer, every Board member and you make your choice after thinking carefully and judging after you evaluate exactly just what these soul sellers, these sell outs have actually accomplished for us.
     Bad roads. Poor perimeter walkways. Sketchy swale upkeep. New temporary ponds and lakes. Donald Kelly. Homeless. Suppression of rights. Poor accounting principles. Poor future planning or none at all. Selfishness versus altruism. Incompetence. Opaque governing. Exclusion of others and those not in their "innie'' gropup. And the list can go on and on.
     People, are we going to make a Faustian deal because we are too lackadaisical or too apathetic to watch out for own good? Are we going to stand by and see the Village go down the tubes? Are we going to stand by and see our fees go ever higher and higher and for basically nothing? Are we going to keep paying the expenses of the Levys and fix their property even as we pay rent for it and have barely a say in how it functions as every year there are more and more rules and restrictions placed upon us?
     The answer must be a resounding NO and we must yell - Devil, get thee gone!  
   Term limits. Term limits.

     I know that there have been some strong postings lately, but folks, time is coming when we have to put forth delegates, candidates, and vote anew. If we do not, then we have only ourselves to blame and no right to complain. October is coming and soon after that March comes in like a lion and we need to vote. We need to make sure the election process is clean, transparent, honest and if we sit on our thumbs - well, you look into the future and see it as it will be.

GIVE IT UP ALREADY!

     Part of the joy of a give and take is exactly that - the give and take, the dueling with words, the moment when one knows that a point has been scored. But that implies that the participants of this activity are well ranked against each in levels of ability. It is not so when one is constantly being derivative in his writing.
     Derivative means that one has taken or tried to take the style of another, the words of another, and tried to make a point using them but not succeeding. A good example is the use of yellow journalism as a term, a descriptive word being applied to The Rag. David Israel, who before this NEVER used this term, now suddenly says that his opposition is a part of yellow journalism.
     Let us take this accusation apart. Who has told lies, orally and in print? Who has been the one to take over an entire newspaper and turn it into his mouthpiece? Who has hidden facts from the residents and then only spoken about it when forced to? Who has hidden items from the general public and included them only in those ridiculous IFIs sent to those whom Israel feels he has a chance of co-opting or already holds them in thrall?
     Again, the truth will always out. I have said this six zillion times and yet, the liars, the incompetents, refuse to accept this, instead keeping to their quickly eroding path that will take them nowhere other than to a bankrupt Village and a physical dump of a place.
     They hid that the previous CAM, Carver, was a paid employee of the Village at the same time that he had contracts with associations to manage properties. He hid the fact that Carver took over as basically the project manager of the road paving job, manifestly unqualified and how did that work out for us? He hid the fact that he knew about Kelly, enabled Kelly, refused to do anything about Kelly until forced to by US and even now we are still in crisis mode for what of the tenants, the homeless being sheltered quite inappropriately here in the Village. What of that? Who the hell knows, since David Israel is a consummate liar and omits the truth whenever and wherever possible.
     He has hidden the truth about Herle. Yes, people quit or resign or are fired all the time. That is the world of business, but how and when and why Herle decided to leave, the roles that UCO officers played in this decision, when they knew and why was it all held secret and not disclosed to the DA? Why was it only sent out - and even then, sent out only in the IFI - only AFTER we broke the news.
     Derivative? Yes, David Israel. You have not had one positive original thought in who knows how long and seem to gain some energy only when you are screaming at someone in public and why people stand still for that I will never understand. You gain some energy by trying to hide the truth and never learn that one cannot do that. For Heaven's sake, just pick up a paper and see what has come out just in the past few days, what with ISIS and chemical attacks, planned sex slavery, a frontier mentality in some law agencies and what else and who knows the next thing that will come to the fore?
      So give it up already. You are becoming tired and useless unless it is to do harm and cause ill will. Leave and take your minions with you and let us get on with the job of restoring our Village to its glory days, to a place of safety, where people were not afraid to walk at 2 AM, to leave a door unlocked, and of course, let us not forget those infamous members of the doorknob thieves!!!
     Term limits, folks, term limits. Attend the advisory meeting, the DA. SIN AND REDEMPTION - LOCAL VERSION

      Last nite I was watching a video of a lecture sent to me from a friend and it dealt with sexual abuse and the attempts of communities to hide it, to bury their heads in the sand about it and just blame the victims. As I listened to the speaker, an author whose book I have read, rolling through my head was the plea to G-d to make them rue their sins, their willful  ignorance and blind eyes. The old saying that what goes around comes around sang in my head and I know that that is true as I have seen it in my lifetime. And all this led me to the thoughts of sin and redemption - I guess at this stage in life we think about that more and more!
     Sin is not only a religious topic or thing. It is the violation of what is right, what should be, and certainly contains within it the violation of duties and responsibilities of a communal position and the realization that if one does wrong there, misuses and abuses the public trust, then one must atone and try for redemption. So how does this work?
     I believe there are four stages. One is recognition that one has indeed sinned, understanding that no matter how one tries, one cannot turn away from the reality of it all. It also helps if others start the process which often helps the sinner recognize the sin. I believe we have done that here, just as others in the outside world have brought many politicians to their knees as their misdeeds came to the surface. I told you so - the truth will out!
     The second stage is the understanding and acceptance of exactly what the sin was and why it was wrong. It is a difficult step to take as one is always looking for justification for one's misdeeds.  Well, I am not sure that David Israel and crowd have even reached this point. Many of this crowd are beginning to realize that they indeed have done wrong, abused the public trust, but unfortunately there are always more awaiting, willing and ready to get their chance at the public trough and here too we have those waiting to get their chance at establishing their own little kingdom. Don Foster. Fausto - so disappointed with this one as I had high hopes.  And you can insert other names as well with these just being two of them and easily seen to be so. Because one CAN do something does not make it right to do it. Joy Vestal is one who should understand this idea though I am not even sure that she recognizes that she has done wrong, so blinded by access to power and control is she.
     The third stage is repentance, acknowledging the wrong that has been done and then attempts to at least try to repay, to make up for what has been done. Can you imagine the burden that ED Black would have at this stage??!! Boggles the mind doesn't it?
     And finally, the fourth and final stage, the planning for the future, for the positive and permanent change in behavior, in motivations, the realization that one must do better and what one owes to his/her fellow human beings. This is a hard stage but can be done if one has the will and the want. I sadly do not see this in our UCO officers at present and see only their selfish needs driving them. And their selfish "leader" does not help the matter.
     Well, folks, WE can no longer hide our heads and minds in the sand. These people are nasty and dangerous, mean and cruel, unthinking of others as they pursue their own selfish desires and quest for power, such as it is. Well, to them I say - read the papers and know that justice does come around, perhaps now, perhaps later and perhaps even after death and in that case - screw the supposed legacy, huh!!! So think about your actions as we do, and as we expose your misdeeds and shortcomings, your sins against the residents of the Village. We will provide the obvious impetus that you need to acknowledge what  you have done and then make up for it.
    I wish you luck in your very arduous and difficult journey. Aaaahhhh, the thought of term limits intrudes once again!

RESPONSE TO DAVID ISRAEL'S NASTY LITTLE COMMENT

     It is truly sad when the leader? of UCO needs to post something and has to add in a nasty little remark thinking that oh yay! he scored a hit. Well, little Davey, you scored nothing, nada, nil, zilch, effes (nothing in Hebrew).
So let's see what you wrote. The malcontents you call me. Wrong, oh so wrong. We are content to live here but wish to reform it and for your information have a Reformist Party of CV, INC. Next, yellow journalism? Truly, Davey boy. Can you do no better than that? I write the truth as I hear it and see it and understand it. I have no truck with personal gain as I want nothing out of this but a better UCO and a better Village. I do not scream at people in public nor hide things, thinking that  transgressions will be overlooked and forgiven. Yours are not, trust me on that. If you want yellow journalism close by to your heart then look no further than your Rag which has no journalistic  integrity at all, not in the very least iota.
     Now let's take up Ted Herle's letter of resignation. Pretty strange that it is dated the same as the notes and summary that he presented. He seems to be looking forward to following up on things in progress and suddenly, et voila! he is resigning. Anybody smell something funny? I am happy for him that he has found a job closer to him for as one who drove to work for years, closer  is definitely better and easier. The question is why the sudden split second change of mind on the same date and why the pretty weak and empty letter that really said nothing but bye.
     And by the way, David Israel, the letter needed to be posted immediately upon receipt, not after rumors abounded and you were called on it. This is simply your usual tactic and recently this has truly backfired in a major way on you. Donald Kelly anyone? C'mon and be a man. Take up my offer to work together or are you too afraid and too weak to do so? I have my opinion as do many others. Shame on you and your scurrilous writing. At least grow up in the level of writing and content. Right  now it offends my teacher sensibilities. Term limits anyone?

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?

     It seems as if every time I am gone from the Village that all hell breaks loose, so hang on to your hats as I will be gone thru the 25th of August! And the question remains - when will we ever learn and act on what is right in front of our noses?
     So now we have  a CAM situation. Our Village is now without a general manager as to the physical plant, as to one who will deal immediately with a crisis and with governmental and private company officials who will be there . We now have another situation wherein we have a UCO, we have UCO officers, but where are they? Cornish seems to never be here and is always postponing her committees which she oversees, Joy Vestal looks like hell and is so torn between UCO and The Rag that she does neither any justice, Bob Marshall? Well, "nuff said on that, and then there is Fausto.
     Rumor has it that Fausto had much to do with the "quitting" of  Herle, our Cam. It is said that it was either quit or be fired and the constant interference of Fausto in the CAM's area of responsibility was quite hard to tolerate. If this is incorrect, then please send me the facts. The fact is, that we know nothing and have to find out things in a backwards way and why, because UCO and David Israel and Ed Black seem never to learn that there is no hiding what is going on anymore. There are too many eyes and ears and again, I cannot state it often enough - the truth will out!!!
     So what is the truth here? UCO, speak up. David Israel sits there in his backroom like the wizard behind his curtain as he fears to be discovered. Or perhaps it is because he is ashamed at his horrendous display of temper, lack of manners, lack of knowledge of civility, lack of caring about other people, as he tore after and into Lori Torres because she dared to disagree with him about a transportation issue. He ripped into her in front of all people who were in the lobby of the Clubhouse  and not once, but TWICE!!! The issue at hand does not make a difference. What does make a difference is that this is yet another example of Israel's boorishness, of lack of skill in knowing how to behave, how to work with others, how to recognize and appreciate the hard work of others.
     Lori Torres has a thankless job yet she does it well. I have been to a meeting of her committee and it is well attended with people who are strongly invested in this area and the buses. Is there disagreement sometimes? Yes, but so what? She runs a good meeting, moves it along and takes items under advisement and gets back to the people in a timely manner. So who is slowing things down? Who is holding up the repair of the benches OFF the perimeter road? Well, look no further and nowhere else other than our UCO building.
     And that is the problem all over. Look to the UCO building and you will find the roots of the issues. And why are they not asking questions of Eva, who will tell one why more repairs are being made to areas which were repaired in recent times and yet here we go loop de loo, right around again. Again, the pool. Again, the courts, again, everything else and by the way, have we had our coolers checked for Legionnaire's yet? It seems a smart thing to do to me. Just look at NYC which thought it did not have to.
     Our UCO and its officers, for the most part, are now composed of rotten cheesecloth and reeks of inefficiency and what is worse, cruelty and a touch of madness and paranoia, a pretty big touch at that! Term limits, folks, term limits, and the sooner the better and even if we did not get them in time, no more electing of people who are nasty, uncaring, concerned only with establishing and embedding their own little kingdom - whomever they are and wherever they choose to be. They gotta' go. They MUST if we are to have anything here resembling OUR UCO, our administration, and not a puppet being run by the greedy power hungry oligarchs. Must we import the sins of the outside world into ours? Let us stand up for our rights here for it is OUR home that is at risk.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE TRUTH?

     Yesterday afternoon we managed to sneak in a movie. It is called Phoenix and is in German with English subtitles. Very much worthy of the time to see it and the thoughts and topics it engenders in one's mind. It is a post Holocaust movie set in Berlin, but could be anywhere and goes far beyond what you might think. In fact, it portrays more human emotions and motivations than many another movie of similar topic.
     What makes a person do what he does? What makes a person tick? How does a person convince oneself that he is innocent of wrongdoing, of base motivations? What makes a person feel he can hide the truth not only from himself, but also from the world? And most important, what does that person do when the truth smacks him in the face and there is no running away, no hiding from it and the real consequences are there for the seeing and then what? What does one do with the truth, in many cases the unwanted and unvarnished truth?
     Go see the movie, probably at some point will be shown at the Movies of Lake Worth, but I will not tell you the ending. Suffice it to say that at the end I wanted to punch the screen!
     But the most important thing to take away from this movie, beyond the general lessons of the Holocaust and its consequences is the realization that its consequences go on and on, that one cannot hide from them and one must be forthright in facing the truth of the whole matter and one's responsibility in a mess, the role an individual plays in a societal disaster,to put it simply, and then understand that these truths transfer to life in every aspect of it.
     So what do we do with the truths that are being exposed here in the Village? Do we just ignore them or tut, tut and say that it will never happen again? Or do we hear the lies of those exposed and for an easier life for us, do we accept these lies? What do we do with the consequences of all this?
     What do we do with the truth about the Rag, about UCO, about its personnel? What do we do with the truth when a volunteer at UCO states openly in a comment that she/he posts anonymously because she/he does not want to be thrown under the bus. What do we do with the truths of the firings of volunteers such  as Howie Silver or Bettie Lee Bleckman or the Greggs or Neil or the witch hunt that tried to burn Dorothy at the stake? Folks, what do we do? We cannot ignore the truth forever.
     And now there is a new rumor about the CAM.
 Well, is he or is he not still an employee of UCO and if not, why not? What is the truth? Just as the miserable and rotten truth and all the stinking lies came out about the roads, about the huge raises in fees we are going to face, about our unpreparedness to face post Millennium talks, to deal with scuzzbags of the earth such as Donald Kelly and the people who enabled him to successfully attack the fabric of life here in the village- and that includes all of whom knew and allowed this to happen - none other than David Israel, Ed Black, Joy Vestal, the whole jolly crew!
     What do we do with the truth, folks, what do we do? What do we do with the facts about the security contract that never should have been? When are we going to realize that the truth is that we need someone who has experience in dealing with contracts, with budgets, to head UCO? When are we going to realize the truth that character counts in the head of UCO and his/her aides? When, folks, when?
     When do we shake ourselves and get to work in dealing with the consequences? It is manageable right now - if we tackle the situation head on NOW. That is the truth of the matter. Think about it and then step up and out and join the truth seekers, the reformers, those who wish the Village well and do not look to it for validation, for power, for control. The truth, as they say, is out there - and not very far away either. What do you do?

THE LONG CON

     In grifting, the field of running a con on someone, there are two forms. There is the short con, which is quick, a matter of hours or days, over and done with, except for the harm and hurt left behind, and then there is the long con. This takes much setting up and can take months, even a few years to set up and insure proper results for the grifter, never mind the disaster left behind when the grifter is gone. Here, in CV, today, I believe we have the grifters setting up the long con; indeed, are well into it.
     Our home grown grifters are well in place. In fact, so well are they embedded in our UCO that they can now take steps to openly and insultingly, even, begin to place their new generation of players into their new and additional roles. In your face behavior as they set up a new generation of multiple role and job holders, all the better to keep us poor shnooks out of the game and just playing the wallets for their follies.
     David Israel is pretty quiet now, the quiet before the storm, when election season is up and he then pulls his rabbits out of the hat, what with his little trainee, Don Foster, all set to control the elections, once again shutting down all fair play, all campaigning, all chances of getting this poisonous man out of office. All the pieces are being put into position, all the better to eat us up  come elections and its campaigning times.
     There is no really tried and true way to get rid of bad politicians other than to get them out of office. One way is for a natural death. Well, we have no control over that. Another way is for someone to step up and out and run against the incumbent despite all odds, despite the nasty stuff he will sling at the opponent. It does not hurt. Trust me, been there, done that and even as I have earned his enmity, all for looking to serve the Village, so what? Nothing changed in my life other than meeting great people and being proud of myself for taking a stand. So why not you or you or you? You will have an organized group to work with you, a paper, two blogs, and a whole lot more people to stand with you.
     Another way is to get term limits reinstated and prevent him from running again. Once he is gone, so are the other parasites who leech the life out of the Village, giving us truly horrific contracts, calling them the best ever, and then defending them when their faults and deficiencies are uncovered and then finally admitting to facts not known before. I would like to know how this company got three Village contracts? Smells veerryy fishy to me. What else is behind the top of this iceberg just waiting to flood us out, to take us down?
     We MUST start over with fresh and clean people, people who have had no part, no truck, with David Israel and his Grand Vizier, Ed Black. We must oust Gorodetzer from her advisory position, remove Joy Vestal as her sell by date has long passed and she has violated every ounce of journalistic integrity and true responsibility towards the Village.
     Our UCO is tainted, plain and simple, These are grifters who are in it for the long con and one shudders to think what their final aim is and what has gone on in the interim behind our backs, out of our ken. Each day there appears to be more and more nasty stuff coming to the surface. Let us wake up and wake up our neighbors along with us, stir and shake this quiet before the storm time and blow this man out of office with our justified anger and our unity. Do not allow him to sit up there and smirk at us as he lies at the DA and says he appoints the chairs and before that slips and says, yes, he appoints the members. Actually, the chair is supposed to do that, but in reality, David Israel approves it all and if not - then get one gone!
     Are we going to allow good people to be shoved aside? Are we going to require people like Howie Silver to stand up there and question why the bad, the undeserved treatment? Are we going to stand for a man who has no defense other than to call for police - not good for that anymore, - and now to call for Al to shut off the mic. The better question is WHY, why do we allow this to continue. It is no wonder that the man and his henchmen hold the rest of the residents in contempt and are not worried as they stroll over and around the by - laws, attempt to put in place new ones that will truly cripple us, refuse to prepare for the post Millennium talks, concentrate on things we do not need and neglect that which must be done, and allow us a confused WPRF that appears to be expert at spending our money for their  own property and doing so in a muddled manner.
     TERM LIMITS, FOLKS. GOTTA DO IT. THE CON IS OVER.
    

IF YOU CAN'T EAT IT, STEP AWAY FROM THE TABLE! A SAGA OF TWO PRESIDENTS

     Assuming the mantle of leadership carries with it both perks and disadvantages. It confers power on the individual, the ability to move mountains even, but it also places limits on that power by forcing the leader to work with those who have the power to check its outer reaches. It demands responsibility, courage and righteousness as well as realpolitik from the leader, a tough load, but a good leader, a proper leader, will know the proper way to take on that load and thrive.
     Leadership also puts that same leader on the hot seat, no matter the level of leadership, be it a small or local organization to the president of a country. That hot seat means that from the first second of taking office, there will be critics and criticism, some correct, some not, some fair and some nasty. It is the nature of the beast. If one cannot eat that nasty part of being a leader, then one must step away from the table.
     Unfortunately, today in the USA we have a leader who has so ignobly fallen down on the job. Ill experienced when entering office, but carrying the hopes and good wishes of many with him, he did not grow with the job in a good way. Instead, he became obsessed with the idea of a "legacy", something big which would become implanted in the historical annals of his reign and he has failed miserably. Partially, it was not his fault, as he had to deal with an opposition Congress, but instead of working with the opposition, difficult as it may have been, he fought and fought and now the urge to legacy is within its last year of possibility. What will be left to place in his library?
     So along comes an Iran deal, one which is now spoken of as "yes, a bad deal, but the best one we can get and if not this, then it will be war." Well, I along with many others, feel that this is a dangerously stupid statement. One does not settle on such an issue, but instead stands firm and stands tall and does not use scare tactics, else we might as well light up flags of Iran and scream "Death to the real Satan!" But one does not do that; instead one needs to grow up and take the high and hard road and go at it.
    Instead, we have the President of the United States returning to the language and implications of a terrible hatred and words that smear and negatively imply things in both a hurtful and dangerous manner. Suddenly the opponents are slammed as "warmongers beating the drums of war" and told that they were the ones who forced us into the original war in Iraq. I THINK NOT!!!!
They are cursed as lobbyists. Well, lobbyists are not always my favored class of careerists, but there are lobbyists for everything in Washington, including for Iraq, for health, for agriculture, big and small and the list goes on. If not for lobbyists, half the buildings in DC would be empty! So why this sudden cursing of this particular group of lobbyists. It smacks of something truly nasty, a feeling perhaps learned at the knees of a certain pastor? It also does not behoove a leader to threaten his opponents with the statement to the effect that if they lay  off the Iran deal, he will lay off the Jews. Really! Son of a ------. Sorry, folks, we have been here before and have had hateful presidents such as Carter, but one does not expect it of this one.
     And then of course, we have our own local president, David Israel, another one whose powers have gone to his head, inducing him to further seek to grow these powers, to keep these powers with him and his intended heirs, to become a dictatorship, to place upon CV the parameters of a banana republic! Towards that end he has refused all extended hands of offered partnership, of cooperative work for the sake of the Village. He has violated the by laws of the Village, twisted them per his whims and needs of the moment, made a mockery of UCO in that he has turned it into the UCO of the few and the defiler of the needs of the many. He has done the same with most every other public institution in the Village, employed tactics which violate the rights of every resident here and thrown many of his opponents into the figurative gulags of Siberia.
     And most of all, he, too, cannot deal with opposition, with the words and statements of his opponents and thinks he is above all that, immune to the criticism that a leader incurs. So to him and his, I say too - get away from the table if you cannot eat what is thrown at you, justifiably thrown at you and incurred due to one's own behavior and actions.
    We must do better in the next election - for both presidents - for if not, I shudder to think what future we might be facing in both arenas. We must parse each individual running for President of the USA and we must choose carefully how we even choose our candidates here in CV and the first thing to do is to insure that David Israel not be allowed to run again via TERM LIMITS BEING REINSTATED. Think about it folks.
     I gotta tell ya, more and more I see the image of G-d shrugging His big shoulders, sighing, and place kicking this sad world of ours off into space and rolling up His sleeves to start all over again. Instead of evolving we seem to be devolving. Time to stand up in all spheres of life and fight for what is right and proper - before it is too late in many ways.
     For both presidents and their minions, here is an apt thought for you to think about even as you continue to mouth threats of revenge. It is from John Milton.
     "Revenge, at first though sweet, bitter ere long back on itself recoils." That snake chasing you is really your own tail coming back to haunt you.

AFTER INTROSPECTION, A PLEA

I am tired. Physically and emotionally. Yesterday was a long and hard day, tough in every aspect but well worth it. It is good to delve into one's soul every once in a while and take stock, take account of what is going on.
     Early in the morning, Gerry and I, along with grandson #2 who is about to set off for a year of study in Israel, took what has now become something of a rite in the family - the grave tour. We went to the various cemeteries where parents, grandparents, great grandparents and even great great grandparents were buried, along with assorted other relatives. At one site we met my brother and there, after wandering around a bit we found the oldest grave of the family here in America and it was eerie standing there with him at a tall tombstone engraved with his name, for this is the person who bequeathed him his name.
     But what was amazing was talking with our boy, hearing his thoughts and realizing that we have something special here, a pretty  intelligent 18 year old with his head on straight and his heart in the right place. And I thought to myself - this is what makes it all worthwhile, knowing that the values have been taught and caught and we saw it in another cemetery as well.
     When I went into the office of the cemetery where my parents are, where a family plot is, to thank them for keeping it looking so well, the gentleman said, "Oh, I know that plot very well. It is one of the most visited ones in the cemetery." And I saw all the stones placed upon their footstone and cried, missing them, but knowing that my parents are still honored not only by children and even grandchildren, but also great grandchildren. Taught and caught again.
     Draining in every way, but rewarding as well. But what happened that evening also played a role.Grandson and grandmother went to a memorial service for the beautiful young lady, Shira Banki, who was stabbed to death at a Gay Pride parade in Jerusalem, stabbed by an extremist, a fanatic, one encouraged by some sick people of his own community. The program was sponsored by two organizations, gay oriented, yet the attendance was filled by all denominations, all colors and creeds, all with only one motive in mind - to stop the violence, to stop the hatred, be it a 16 year old young girl or a Palestinian child, or a Jewish child cut down in her crib, or Israelis standing at a hitchhiking post.
     The cost of hatred is high. The cost of friendship and tolerance is not and the reward is much better. So we all sang, spoke, heard speakers,  made contact with Jerusalem, and ended with a solemn, yet hopeful, song for G-d to help His children, to help us make peace within us and in our world.
     And so back to our small world here in CV. We are a tiny piece of the world, insignificant, but important to we who live here. I make a plea to you, David, to look within yourself and ask yourself why, for Heaven's sake, why are you insisting on maintaining your path? Why are you so determined to make a kingdom and a line of heirs even as you know that you, as we all are, are mortal, and strive to leave a "legacy". Leave a valid one, a good one, rather than the one of hatred, of suppression, of poor behavior, of a lack of good ideas for the Village and we can go on but I am tired, David. I would like to do what I can to improve this place and do it in concert with others who feel the same way as we work together in a better UCO, make UCO a friendlier place. If we can do that - it would truly be a blessing.
    G-d alone knows how much hatred there is in His world so why must we waste our limited time and energy on it. I have no hatred, no plans, no motivation other than the one which is to improve our Village and keep it viable for the foreseeable future. The plea, David, is for you to see the light and reach out, show some positive signs of change and work for this future. Forget the dreams of power. Forget the gripping fantasy of a kingdom which will bear your influence for years to come. You know deep within yourself that that cannot be. Work with us. Work for the Village and let us put away the negativity. We have none other than what we feel is bad for the Village. What is in your heart, David? Show it by action. We are watching and waiting, but not standing idly by.
     To paraphrase Psalm 122, wherein David the Psalmist writes about Jerusalem, think of the vision he had and put this overlay on our Village and think what could be, what should be.
     "A city where all are welcome
     united together in harmony."

     The plea is from me and from many others who want peace, positive behavior and a better, improved Village where all work together and no one thinks only of power grabs. Make no mistake about it - we will continue on our path to oppose lack of democracy, unfair practices, but how much better would it be if we could concentrate our combined firepower, our combined brains, our combined wishes for the Village and indeed create a new PAX ERA. Think about it. Choose your advisers carefully and think long term. Therein lies your legacy. The ball is very briefly in your court. Catch it and throw it wisely. Score, rather than shoot improperly and just earn an airball.

STRENGTH, PATIENCE AND HONESTY

  Read a small anecdote yesterday which appeared to have a message of great import to us here struggling to right the wrongs of our Village. The story goes like this: a father and son are walking along the beach and the son asks the father if he can do anything he sets his mind to do. The father says yes, if you use all the strength you have. Well, the son spots a huge rock and asks if the father thinks he, the son, can move it. The father says yes, but reminds him that he must use all his strength. Son tries and fails and disputes the father's previous sayings. The father says no, you did not use me.
     We learn from this a new way for the old but tried message that one cannot do much, but many, together, can and if we remember that, if we join together, we, too, can move rocks, the rocks of UCO administration at present and fill in the hole that remains with better, fresher, more open  people.
     Read a lot yesterday, so came across an interesting piece about patience. Patience, we are told, the ability to wait, has grown less these days. People are too used to instant gratification, be it buying a pair of shoes from Zappo or Amazon Prime or getting an answer to a question they asked of whomever. The writer then adds that there are two "waitings" to be discussed, one that occurs when waiting in line for a bus, for payment and there is nothing to be done but wait. The other waiting is more active, for one has to know that sometimes the end of waiting has come and the time for active participation has arrived. We here in the Village are in that second waiting and the time for action has come - and we are trying, are we not - and succeeding to a great degree.
     Questions are being answered, or at least to some degree, and we will continue to push on that. The Kelly situation still needs lots and lots more work to make sure that the owners are okay and these undesirable renters are out with no more to come, no more shoppers, no more beggars, no more non investigated people. Renters are active parts of our population and can contribute much, to a limited point, but are welcome - if they are a proper fit and I know many that are, but we must be careful to whom we rent and even to whom we sell.
     Finally, I came across a statement that one character said to another. She said that while smoking hurts the heart, dishonesty kills it and living in dishonesty is living an active sin. Interesting thoughts there, are they not? 
     We must all wait patiently together at times and actively wait together at others. The security situation is a prime example. It has been wrong from the getgo! From its inception! We were told that it was the best contract ever - our attorney thought so and excuse me, what attorney? Tennyson! If so, c'mon, get real. Then even as complaints arose from day one we were told that we were wrong, Ed Black told people to go call 911, we lost the ability to call for help unless the gatehouse agreed!  Our valid complaints were sloughed off by Black and Israel and Black waxed poetic is defending the contract. And well he should and would as he was the prime mover behind this sham of a contract, forced upon us in the usual sleight of hand manner, with half truths and outright lies. Once again they are trying to say that a main cause was the lack of wi fi so cameras could not work. Well, batteries do! And there are numerous police departments that have body cameras and the places are NOT wi - fied. Batteries work!!!
     The whole voting on the issue to send a notice is swathed in layers and layers of fog and even the Executive Board meeting where Black told some of the truth that he so often denied, was poorly attended, even by the officers of UCO. Why the hell did they run if they were never going to be at meetings? Because this is what Israel wanted. This is how he maintains his third world dictatorship. This is how he maintains his hold on UCO - by controlling the people who work in it and refusing all fresh blood, new volunteers. 
     Passive wait no longer. Active wait's time is here. Join in and let us get them out. Term limits and remember - we are here and no matter what and who we have , we are always going to be here for the residents. That is our purpose - certainly mine. I need no office - only my blog - to praise, to question, to suggest. 

WHAT IS THE TRUTH AND DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE - ONLY IF WE RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH

      Sorry for the late entry, but flew out early this morning  and when I got here my daughter put me to work harvesting her garden vegetables and fruits.  The life of the migrant worker is not easy!
Anyway, read an article or two on the plane today that were very annoying.
     First we have the President telling Israel that if they do not go along with the Iran deal then there will be missiles falling in Tel Aviv. What was the purpose of that? Trying to scare Israel? Does he not remember from last summer the missiles that fell ALL OVER Israel including Tel Aviv, all aimed at civilian population centers. Does he not understand that Israel is concerned about its very existence and needs no reminding from him that Iran is dangerous and only wishes to see Israel wiped off the face of this earth? So what was that statement - a threat or what?
     Then we have the astute argument whether ISIS or Al Qaeda is more dangerous. So, does it really make a difference? One is six apples and the other is half a dozen. Safe difference. Each wants to kill us in different ways, but dead is dead, folks, be it en masse, small incidents, by gun or by knife. There is no difference in philosophy, only methodology, so why can we not apportion men and funds to each? Does not seem difficult to me. 
     This kind of convoluted logic and thinking, if we dare to call it that, is similar to what we have in the Village, with a great recent example being the Security contract. First we had it thrown at us in the DA where people were talking, minutes were to be read as well as the contract, all in  a few minutes, Ed Black, the author of this wonderful contract who worked "oh so hard for it" and got praise from his Lord and Master at the DA, stood up and told us how we had to vote for this, the best contract ever and at a great price. Too many fell for this and oops, there we were, stuck in more UCO garbage again.
     From the beginning there were complaints about not doing the job, poor attitudes, lack of training, lack of fulfillment of the contract, but David Israel and Ed Black loved them because they got their sneaky little cameras in place, all the better to spy on us! Finally the complaints and issues were too visible, too loud and attention had to be paid but a committee meeting went the wrong way with a vote to give Kent sixty days notice but then Ed Black who opposed that suddenly could not count and said, "Oops, a mistake, it was a tie vote" and you did not see this meeting on his blog!
     Then suddenly there was an unannounced "emergency" meeting of the security committee and oh my, they voted to recommend the sixty days notice and give it to the DA to approve or not.  In the officers' meeting there was allusion made to new issues. What are those new issues and how is this being addressed in the proposed 60 days notice? What is the format and content of this notice? How will it be made known whether the company has lived up to the requiremens or not? What happens to the cameras that we are paying for if the contract is cut? And most important, what are the contingency plans for our security if after 60 days the contract is cut off. And the snide little laugh of David Israel at the officers meeting made me wonder if he has other plans - to keep anyway, to lay the garbage talk on thick, or has someone else in mind already? This is the same type of faulty thinking that raises questions about the two terrorist organizations. Why can we not have an open and honest discussion of any and all plans and issues in UCO. It is our UCO and our Village and we are not to be ignored nor treated as dummies.
    Personally, I have a great deal of disbelief in the open and true honesty of our governmental officials. They lie through their teeth and then have excuses when they are caught out and why would I think it is any different here in UCO, especially when we have  so many examples of this in UCO be it the roads, the security contract, the deals with WPRF, the enabling of Donald Kelly and the refusal to deal with it until we screamed loud and long enough, so much so that the outside world heard and they were forced into it. And I am sure there is more.
     Term limits will clear the air, clear UCO and the best will be retained, the honest, the caring and the rest will be gone. Term limits is the way.

DEFINITELY ANNOYING

     There are big things that must be corrected here in the Village. That much we know is true, and we combat it every day, but what is often the most annoying on a daily basis are the ratty little comments that are made by His Nibs and his Niblets as they go through the day wrapped in their own self delusions. Some of these delusions and what they consider to be humor are quite dangerous when understood as to origin.
     Take David's personal blog wherein he purports to be the official Village blog, yet we know that he shut that down and opened this, his own, trying to make money thru ads, a blog wherein only his Niblets are allowed to post. Everyone else is told that one may not post as the person you are. What is even more aggravating is the fact that the Rag gave him free advertising space, endorsed it, and why? Well, for one it simply goes to show that David Israel rules the roost as far as they are concerned, and two, if the ad works, then more people will be driven to his blog and he can charge or earn more money from advertisers. So - if one must go to that blog, limit it severely. The interesting videos of meetings are not shown, such as the Security meeting where a 'tie" vote on the security contract supposedly took place and then an  "emergency" security meeting took place where suddenly  it was a unanimous vote to give Kent a 60 day notice! Wow! Things certainly changed.
     My question here is to ED Black. In the Rag you waxed poetic about the security contract, how the problems would be taken care of and we need to stay on track with them. Then what a turnabout! According to a mumbled statement on line, other things came to the fore. What things? The residents are entitled to know and must be made aware of all in a full disclosure before they vote at the DA on this. Make no mistake about it. I think this contract was rank with bad news from the beginning but Ed Black lied thru his teeth and crammed it down people's throats with no time to read and think. And now he wants the reverse. What happened and exactly what are the plans for a security company now? Will the rejected ones reapply or will they spurn CV as many companies do thanks to the poor presentations and negotiations of the Village UCO people. What are the contingency plans to keep our security secure?
     Then we have the late presentation of the Officers' meeting, put on line several days after the meeting and there are some telling points here. First of all, and I would need an expert for this, but I believe that between 11:41 and 12:00 on the clock of the video there is a glitch with a slightly perceptible jump between numbers and a cut off sentence from David which does not make sense in context. What was being sliced, edited, out and why? And note the snide laugh of Israel when he comments that the same people discussed and voted on the security contract so this vote struck him as quite funny. Really? This is exactly what we mean by the same people always doing the voting and the whole farce that is going on here. Rubber stamp government is what it is. Democracy it most certainly is not.
     And then we have that fool, Peter Cruz making a comment that three "loudmouths" were kvetching about all the venues being closed for supposed renovations. They already had been warned by the guards, he says. What warning? Why? Are we now not allowed to express our thoughts if they are opposed to events in the Village? What is next? Our own form of the Gulag? Home invasions at 4 AM to take us away? Is there no end to the suppression of free speech here? And why not complain? There are people who live here all year and are entitled to a full complement of  recreational facilities all year and not just be satisfied with  a huge cut out of them, including two pools at the same time. And what is this that I am hearing about the cost of renovation to the indoor pool? Did we not spend enough of our money on a quarter of a million dollars for the resident pool at the Clubhouse. Now another quarter of a million or close to it? OUR MONEY  -  THEIR PROPERTY. Yes, this property that we are so lavishly and free spending to renovate does not even belong to us. WE rent it, fix it, renovate it - and do not own it. Seems really off to me. And to many others. But that is for the post Millennium agreement if we ever get around to hiring a real attorney well versed in this area and grow some, as we deal with rapacious owner realty companies used to sitting on us and screwing us royal.
     And of course, we have the apologist blowhard Lanny Howe who thinks this closure is all oh so funny and oh so acceptable. And by the way, these pickleball courts have been nothing but aggravation from the beginning, always needing repair and always costly and once again - we fix and create but do not own. We just pay for everything. Do not think that a WPRF project is WPRF money. Nope, it is mainly OURS - your WPRF fees. Think about that. Kind of like the taxation without representation in a way, is it not?
     Well, if we do not get tornado warnings today maybe it will be a nice day to walk in a shaded area in a park, smell the flowers and fresh cut grass, observe the wildlife - animal and human - and understand again why we remain here even as we fight for the right way for our Village to function. Just think about term limits while you walk, or sit around and chat, go biking, kayaking, go to the movies, or just sit and read a book from our excellent library system. Think how we can safeguard the life we want to have here. Term limits.

IF...........A VERY SMALL VERY LARGE WORD

     The other day, I believe it was Saturday, I read an article wherein Obama's true long term intentions and wishes about Iran were analyzed and it all began with IF.  If Iran would do this and if Iran would do that, a whole lot of "if-full thinking! I do not want to get into an analysis of the Iran deal as it would take an hour and a half; suffice it to say that the deal stinks, majorly, and is a danger to us all, not just Israel, but the USA and other countries, a global threat.
     But the point here is that suddenly there is a new type of thinking around here, the world of if. If we can imagine it, if we can say that it would be better one way or another, if we can convince ourselves, never mind the other people, that things will go our way, then if all that happens - we can live a pie in the sky life. But that is all it is, pie in the sky, for one must base one's thinking and plans in a reality that could happen, that must be made to happen, but must be worked the proper way so as to enable it. As the old saying goes - "if wishes were horses...."
     We have the if only school of thinking in the refugee crisis wherein half the countries of the world, mainly in Africa and Asia, due to religious wars, economic issues and what all else, wish to empty themselves into the other countries of the world, all in a trek to that week's favorite flavor of country, currently Britain through the Chunnel.
     I need no lectures about refugees. My people were refugees begging any country in the world to take them, to at least take their children, and no one responded in any serious manner. It was the little people of the world who organized whatever programs there were, saving children, sending money, pleading desperately with governments but even the good old USA refused, FDR refusing the pleas of his wife, to take in the passengers of the St. Louis, all with talents and/or pledges for financial maintenance, no charge on the public - yet turned away they were, with most dying horribly in the camps and forest and ghettos of Europe.
     I know about people being turned away as my great grandmother was turned away at Ellis because one nasty inspector decided she would be of no positive value to the country, even as my grandfather pleaded with broken heart to allow her in, stood there with signed papers, proof of the fact that he would take care of her but back she went and eventually, several years later, into a boxcar she was thrown, too old and fragile to step up and climb in and off she was thrown at the destination of horror - dead, from the journey alone and hence my name.
     So I know of wishful if thinking. It does not work. What works is hard work, exposing the truth, exposing the wrongs, exposing the shameful behavior and thinking of the wrongdoers, of the mistakes and errors they have made which threaten us, tell the truth, out the truth, and get realistic thinkers and doers, honest people into office and open up the ranks of administration to all - exactly what needs to be done here and indeed, all over the world.
     It is great to look into the future and think of a better world for our kids and grandkids, but it is also necessary for us to fix the here and now and before we take on the wishes, we must tackle the necessities and correct the ills and wrongs of the past and present. That is what we are trying to do here in the Village. We are trying to rid it of the bloodsuckers who see UCO as a source of power, of importance, of reason to strut. "Look at me- I am on  so many committees. I rule the world!" Reminds me of the character in one of those Doris Day movies, standing there shouting, "I am king of the elevators."
     IF we can achieve that goal, to sweep UCO clear of all shortsighted and selfish thinking people, IF we can achieve that eminently achievable goal, IF we can get the people of the Village to rise up and instruct their delegates of the proper way to vote as we introduce the bylaws which will reinstate term limits and restrict the multiple roles and positions taken on by power hungry people here in the Village, IF we can do that - then we can remake our particular small piece of the world.
     If you want amusement and a substitute for definitive answers and responses to our questions, if you want to see the derision with which David Israel treats the electorate, if you wish and desire to live under a cloak of darkness rather than in the transparent sun lit world, then please, do hurry over to David's blog wherein the most important thing he could find is a clip about a car that will fly sometime in the future. Really? So what? Remember the 1964 World's Fair and the world we would have and remember the miracle of seeing the one on the other end of the phone and all the wonders that would happen?  Then if you do, you will realize that it took some time for things to happen and for others not and some things never and all in all - I do not see how all these stresses on supposedly technical advances truly improved the world on its very basic level. And oh my G-d can you imagine the drivers of the Village with these car hybrids!!!!Lordy, Lordy! Yes. We all walk around with smart phone - and have become very stupid in face to face talk. We talk of fancy cars even as the price for them rises into the stratosphere. We talk of a better world with much progress even as people are choked financially, as the American dream starts to fade, as the income and wealth differential becomes more and more distinct and severe, extreme. Remember all those apocalyptic movies wherein the  few rich people live in a protected Eden like world and the rest live in a destroyed, polluted, starving, arid world? Well, welcome to the future! IF, that is, we don't all wake up and first of all - we need to wake up here in our Village. Join us. Speak up. Speak out. Read the CV Messenger. Watch the website. Read the blogs. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits.

QUESTIONS OF MORALITY AND CHOICES

     So often, especially at this point in time and life, we ask ourselves, "who are we?" Sometimes we like the answer and sometimes we do not. There is always room for improvement, even if some refuse to recognize that. The choices we make during our lifetime is the determining factor in establishing our moral level and strength. These choice crossroads can occur in many ways.
     One lives in Germany of the late 1930's, able to see what is going on. one has a great job position and is set to rise in the hierarchy, but there is one bit of a problem. You have been called in by the big boss and told that you will go far - if - you join the Nazi party and if not, well....
     You are a child in school and know and have seen how one younger child is bullied, physically and mentally, every day at lunch recess. it is the same bully that used to torment you until you stood up to him. Should you intervene for the younger child's sake or should you just play dumb?
     You know of corruption where you live or work. It actually improves the standards in which you live, but there is a truly crooked path to get there and who know where it will lead? What to do? Whistleblower or deaf, dumb and blind?
Be an Erin Brokovich or play it safe?
     You live in CVWPB and know that the only way to get a piece of the kingdom is to sell your soul, make a deal with the devil. That means that you agree to abide by his every whim and wish, be it stated by him or his alter ego, or even the EBIT (trainee) or you will lose your chairmanship or your new little fiefdom that you thought of, or whatever role you so desired. You KNOW it is wrong and see and hear plenty but remain obedient or speak out? That is your choice.
      All these are choices of morality. Some are of greater consequence than others and some take time to build up for the nastiness to spurt forth, for the ugly boil to break, but the choices are all the same at he basic level. Does one do what is right or what is expedient? Which person are you? Or do you simply say, "Leave me out of this. I am neutral."
     But, you see, one cannot remain silent in the face of evil and wrong for if we do not speak out and up, then we are part of that very same evil, for doing nothing only allows it to flourish and trust me, its evil claws and talons will reach out for you as well. it is only a matter of time, for hate and greed, lust for power, is never sated, is always grasping for more, more, more.
     Life is not always easy, as much as we would like it to be. But the choice is there and the choice is yours. Do you go along with the lies, with the garage that is fed to you as the truth - until the opponents and truth seekers out the truth, and then try to rectify the situation? What do you choose to do? What do you think is the right thing to do? Think about it and then read the CV Messenger, the logs of truth, attend the meetings that are scheduled such as the one on August 5th and hear the truth, know the truth and act accordingly and honorably. The more we are, the stronger we are.

THE UGLINESS AROUND US AND IN US

     I have been thinking all day about the topic of hate and nastiness. I was truly taken aback at the level of gall, of chutzpah, that these two people had. Of course, I am referring to David Israel and Ed Black, who dare to do all they wish and to hell with everyone else.
     David Israel has been well known or rather notorious in his actions, at cursing people in public, yelling at them in public, ignoring them or insulting them, hating people who oppose him and firing people at will if they dare cross him. Exactly where Ed Black fits in here is unknown, whether he is the catalyst or the soldier who carries out the orders, but it does not really matter.
     David Israel should have been out of office at least two years ago but manipulated the delegate assembly THREE times until in the dead of summer he got term limits rescinded. After that he knew no limits. He would scream like a demented banshee and still does, in the assemblies, at anyone who dares to verbally oppose him. He threatened with calling 911 and the PBSO until he was told by the sheriff that they are not his servants, his posse and they do not subscribe to his whims. So now he calls on Al to shut off a mic, thus abrogating free speech, an American right and not for anyone in CV to cut it out and off.
     His paranoia and inner nastiness has come to the fore too many times and it has spread its foul odor over the entire Village. Why should I or anyone else have to write of his misdeeds and his contempt for the residents as he ignores their needs, never comes out of his hole to meet them and only invites the presidents of associations in for oh so false meetings when it approaches election time. And always around him, with him, unless he is off on a foul errand or trying to control things that are non of his business, is Ed Black, he who fires people, threatens people, has his sticky fingers and paws into everything that goes on in the Village.
     Anyone who opposes these people are subjected to nasty stuff. When I dared to oppose him two years ago because everyone else was too scared, too intimidated, he let loose his barrage of nastiness and was unpleasantly surprised when he saw I did not back away and gave as good - even better - than I got. So he got even nastier and I will stay off the topic of corrupted election procedure right now but will return to it at another time.
     Now we have a man who looks towards the future. He is getting on in age, is not so healthy, and is looking to carry on what he thinks is his legacy, so on he brings EBIT, the intern in training to imitate Ed Black and run the future UCO. I would not be surprised if he is being groomed for the next presidential election here in the Village and Israel will say he is retiring but trust me, his nastiness and his nastiness's alter ego will still be around.
     People, please, his nastiness, his mean character, his lack of people skills and inability to reach out to the residents, his never going around the Village to talk with people, never attends a show! Why are we allowing him to remain in office, to taint all that goes on in the Village, to start ridiculous projects and to play fast and loose with fiduciary responsibility and our funds, to intimidate his other officers. Look how Howie O'Brien does exactly what he is told to do.
     And what about the changing of rules almost on a daily basis. The Reporter has become a ridiculous yellow journalism Rag, not worthy of the paper it is printed on. Its editors consist of Joy Vestal, she who lives to serve David Israel, Myron Silverman who has no courage, no spine and no something else, and Don Foster, DonHoHo or EBIT now, who loves to fire people and then look for other Village positions he can grab for himself.
     Is it not time that we revert to civility? Is it not time for David Israel to admit that his time has come? Is it not time for him to GO GO GO!!! Is it not time for them to know and admit that criticism of a policy, or lack thereof, or a misstep in procedure or none at all, any criticism at all, is not to be taken as a personal attack. That is ridiculous. But nothing will change unless and until these men go, leave our UCO so that we might restructure it properly and fairly, staff it with a multitude of people rather than the few he keeps passing around. We will not have renters treated with decency here until he goes, even as he was the one who allowed Kelly to flourish with his renters and with the renters of Ed Black and Don Foster who owns multiple apartments in Sheffield as well.
     Are you not tired of the lies, the flaws, the bad consequences that we have to deal with? Are you not tired of the loss of your civil rights, your American rights? Are you not tired of the arbitrary rules that his "attorney" seems to come up with, all the while never showing anything in writing even as he strolls with Tennyson on his leash.
     Somebody out there is ready to run to oppose him. The opposition now has its own Facebook page, is on Youtube, has two blogs, has a thriving newsletter and email that is growing by leaps and bounds. All this will be thrown your way if you have the courage to run. You will not be alone and we will pledge to stay around and help and leave if and when the new president wishes, but the new president MUST be not of the David Israel/ Ed Black camp or else we are remaining in the doomed and nasty situation.
     Please, cut the garbage, run on the issues, David, speak to the people and stop hiding in your hole, debate like a man - or woman for that matter - but do something worthwhile other than your Papa Doc behaviorisms. The time has come. your time has come - and take your minions with you. No one will miss them.

GANGSTERS ALIVE AND WELL IN CV

     Well, folks, I hate to tell you this, but there is no way around it. We officially have a gang running the Village, entrenched in UCO and the only way out of this is to wait for time to take its toll or to reinstate term limits - NOW!!
      There has been a constant scenario of "unsatisfactory" people being thrown under the bus, so much so that the streets outside the UCO building are often figuratively red with their blood as they are thrown under the bus. Some deserve it, quite frankly, as they had sold their souls to David Israel and Ed Black for the privilege of chairing a committee or getting a new little fiefdom to run. Some are just casualties of war and the egos of weak and nasty paranoid people.
     Over the past almost six years that David Israel has been president, we have seen a major deterioration in the quality of UCO, in its lack of service to the people, in its violation of its fiduciary responsibilities to the residents, of its lack of inclusiveness, of not skimming the best from the Village to serve on UCO, to serve the residents.  What we have is an increasingly narrow and limited group of people who now are UCO. These people have one major responsibility - to serve David Israel and Ed Black. And yes, I know, we all know, that Ed is NOT an elected official, yet he is on more committees of UCO than G-d! And heads some of them as well.
     Just as an aside, a little anecdote which will give you insight into the warped, egotistical, and paranoid mind of David Israel. Some time ago he was told by someone to stop sending his emails to him/her as she/he had never given him permission to do so. He countered and said oh yes, because the email address had been giving to UCO. The reply? Yes to U
CO, but not to you and his response? An insane, "I AM UCO!!!"
     Yesterday was the straw that broke that proverbial camel's back. Recently we had a contentious Finance committee meeting where suddenly rules were changed. Suddenly renters were prevented from entering and Al, the guard, was sent there to make sure of that. Now understand that renters may have no vote, but they ALWAYS have been permitted to attend meetings and in fact there was one particular and notorious renter, Anitra Kraus (apologies if I misspelled last name), who not only attended, but took notes, ran IT, headed a committee, etc. etc. No one checks ids for renter or owner status and that is as it should be, but, my friends, there is a renter, a good writer and active person in the opposition, that they desperately wanted to exclude. Why? Who knows as it is time they learned that there are no secrets here in the Village. So Howie O'Brien, the good little soldier boy, listened to his master and closed the meeting to renters. Legal? I do not think so but even if yes, one cannot be inconsistent and allow some renters at some meetings and not at others. This is twisted logic, paranoid behavior, terror at possibly losing a position one needs to justify his life.
     Anyway, please follow along. At this meeting, three new members of the Finance meeting were announced. One was a man named Toby Lovejoy, an unknown, but probably well prepared to back up David Israel and Ed Black. Another was Don Foster AKA DonHoHo, or rather recently rechristened EBIT - Ed Black In Training as he is now accepting multiple positions - this committee, the associate editor on the Rag and fires people there as well, other committees or positions which I do not have at hand but does not matter as not to worry, if not on now, he will be in a couple of days!, and yesterday was given the position of Chair of the Election committee. Once again we will have a corrupt, shadowy election, all the better to keep the terrorist and gangster crew in position. Truly, an Ed Black in training, much to our detriment, and this for a guy who came in underage to the Village, demanded a paid position at the paper and if only he hangs on I am sure it will come his way as we have already set an example what with paying out on a $12.000 position for the Rag. This for a man who STOLE Internet connections from Olga rather than pay for his own, and who knows what else he was allegedly trying to steal - her information, her numbers, her identity and at whose instructions? Hmmm.... Just thinkin'.... And now, as a reward for doing his jobs oh so well, he is rewarded and we are screwed!
     But wait! There is more, oh, so much more. Toni, the Insurance head, was also appointed to the Finance committee, again part of the recycling of the same people, loading the committees with the same voices. However, Toni has her own ideas and objects to some proposed actions that she feels unwise or poorly done and she has resigned for that or unknown reasons. So....guess who was appointed to her seat and you only have one guess. YES! ED Black, the non elected person who is all over UCO, all over the Village, running our very lives without tacit permission, only the nasty, bigoted, evil desires of David Israel and sometimes I wonder what Ed Black has over David Israel that he gets all these appointments and all this power.
     We can go to court on this, sue David Israel, Ed Black and UCO for violation of civil rights, of the letter and spirit of the laws which govern 617 and we would win but it would be a protracted and expensive path. Many of us are already paying attorney fees as we ask questions of legality, so determined are we to rid the Village of these terrorists, these fascists, these gangsters. So sue and have him whine again about being persecuted, ad nauseum?
     There is a better and cheaper way. Term limits. Reinstate them and have a better Village where we can live with righteous people running the joint and perhaps we need a new system all together, an amalgam of hired and volunteers as this present system has been corrupted beyond words, beyond all repair. At this point, I would vote for a monkey rather than David Israel or his substitute at the next election but it does not even matter as Don Foster will continue to oversee its nasty reputation as a corrupt and cloudy election process. Prove me wrong, EBIT, and appoint others to the committee, others who do not agree with you and yours and let us all hammer out a fair and transparent process but your lord and master will never allow it and if you try to, he will throw YOU under the bus. Hmmm....
     So, residents of CV, are you going to continue to sit there like sheep? Make your outrage heard. Throw out the old and useless delegates who do not think, who do not represent you, and appoint those who will do the right thing and represent the association, not the whims and wishes and commands of the nasty ones over there in UCO. This is the United States of America and we are not supposed to be living under restrictive conditions which violate and deny us our civil rights.
     I was literally sick about all this yesterday. Enough is enough, Do we have to wait for death or physical infirmity to remove the maggots from our midst, remove those in training to take over or can we, will we, stand up and do the right thing? There is no Papa Doc here, no Tonton Macoutes, so there is nothing to fear and if all stood up to him he could do nothing, be as impotent as he and his buddies deserve. Stand with us, stand up for yourself, stand up for the right. Must we turn to the outside media again and make our shame known out there again? Must we turn to outside organizations  who fight for the rights of citizens to live freely? Do we not have enough to counter, to fight, to keep our Village the way it should be, to get rid of the Kellys and those who enabled him to flourish - and for that - look to UCO for they KNEW and ALLOWED it to happen.
     The present reality sucks. It is wrong, unfair and possibly even literally illegal. For those of us who came from Brooklyn, here is the old, yet fitting refrain - "Trow de bum oudda here!"
